to use your analogy of "how cold" I can point you in the
direction of the very answer you have given yourself.
there is no such tangible thing as cold, quantifiable or
other wise.
"cold" is merely the absence of heat. heat is quantifiable.
"cold"/"warm"/"hot are discussed daily all over the planet
yet cannot be 'judged' by any scale as they are personal
expression of a condition.

if this clown posts any low carb living pearls of wisdom I
strongly suggest you consider their credibility in the light
of the ravings displayed in IT related posts.
ie. completely twisted viewpoint that will not accept blunt
reason. far from an open attitude as one can get.

It is clear you are not going to take the sensible path on this. it is clear
you have no intention of staying anywhere near the topic.

Well that is a start.

Sadly you are still delusional on the issue of fact here.

Owell. a little bit of progress at a time is better than none.

What are you going on about? Neither context-free top-posting nor
context-full bottom posting has ever involving quoting twice. I
have no idea why you made that up and started using it is a strawman.

Before the first top-post ever happened, the UseNet rules were
maintained in the newsgroup news.annouce.newusers. At the time no
newsreader software allowed anyone to unsubscribe to that group.
The rules at that time insisted on trimming and they were silent on
the issue of top posting because no one had ever done a top post.
The archives are on groups.google.com under the "net" hierarchy
that predates all modern groups. Go ahead and point to even one
top post in those old groups. But eventually newsreaders came out
that did not enforce a subscription to that newsgroup and it has
not been maintained for years. Without ever being revoked, it
became unenforcable.

The RFCs have always been the official rules of the Internet.
Denying that they are doesn't stop them from being the rules. But
denying that they are does show that they are also unenforcible.
The RFC on UseNet posting standards requires both trimming and
context based bottom posting. And the RFC is unenforcible.
