if you eat more of the meat and leave more of the damn fries, you're
shifting the ratio of fat/protein/carbs in your diet. Eating fewer grams of
carbs will tend to lower your diet as you're lowering your total carb
intake.

Still, unless you control carb intake carefully this may or may not lead to
eating less and weight loss.

::: adversely.
::
:: That's what I was thinking. Thanks for confirming.
::
::: It's impossible to burn enough calories cooking to make a

::: eating fiber containing vegetables--green leafies, green beans,
::: summer squash, eggplant,
::: mushrooms, celery, peppers, asparagus....
::
:: Cool. Right now I'm eating more salads. Baby steps, you know.

Ditch the tortillas unless you're going to use the LC kind.

If someone was of normal weight and told me that they only crapped once a
week, I would still tell them they were full of ****.

Perhaps you take it as an insult or as bullying because you have low
self-esteem. Now's a good time to get over it.

Your demeanor suggests that you feel it's okay to insult fat people
because they are large.
Either you feel it's okay to bully fat people or you don't.

Id say because they're mostly meat. If you could JUST eat the filling
and leave the taco shell on the table, you'd REALLY lose weight. Most of
the carbs are in the shell.

Same with the spag. Eat the meat sauce and leave the pasta out--again,
most of the carbs are in the pasta. It has more carbs, by far, than the
taco shell. Absolutely useless carbs, too--pasta made from white flour
is as nutritious as wallpaper paste.

The BM once-a-week thing....doesnt sound healthy. What about taking a
fiber supplement daily? and....do you drink enough water?

Im betting making sure you get a definite 64 oz.(that's just 4 16
glasses!) of water daily, plus two or three fiber caps....you could fix
that situation.

Plus, speeding up the metabolism of food is a weight-loser, in itself.
Food that takes a week to go from mouth to toilet is moving WAY too
slow.

To poop is to live! The more you poop....the more you LIVE!

best of luck-

Pot. Kettle. Black.

sigh....welcome, Larry. We must overlook der K's extraordinarty

Spaghetti makes me want to eat more and more even if I'm not hungry...
That's my theory so far. My question is: Is there an Atkins principle or
low-carb reason for the fact that tacos either help me maintain or encourage
weightloss even though mine are laden with fat, and the fact that spaghetti
does not?

I think it also has to do with the fact that it's tortillas rather than
bread.

Half of Atkins is about food intolerances.

Corn and wheat half around the same carb count per amount
and about the same high glycemic index/load. The difference
is the ingredient then.

Wheat makes you want to eat more and more even if you're not
hungry. That's important. It's an addictive behavior
pattern. Food intolerances do trigger addictive behavior
patterns. Corn doesn't do that to you so corn isn't
addictive to you.

Yup, there's a standard Atkins answer to what you've described.
If you were to follow the directions for Atkins eventually
you would discover that wheat is a binge trigger for you and
that you need to be wheat-free from here on. But! The but
is there are a lot of other ingredients other than wheat and
corn. It might be one you of them not the wheat.

I suggest you go wheat free for at least two weeks and see
how you feel. Then add wheat for a week and see if you get
worse. Then back to wheat free for a double check. You may
be amazed at the difference.
