Food & Exercise -- 8/4/2004 (yesterday)

The only thing I miss about NJ is my hot tub. It was in the back yard and I used it every night after I got home from working 2nd shift. I got to watch an eclipse of the moon once. The soak always made me sleep like a baby. (and yet, I *never* take baths) I normally use the shower but if I've been working in the yard or just coming home from a long bike ride I love to soak in the tub. I throw in loads of bath oil and soak until I look like a pruneg Beverly -- Walking (but mostly biking!) on . . . Laurie in Maine 207/110 60 inches of attitude! Start: 2/02 Maintained since 2/03 |

wrote: Yeah, I love it. Some days when I'm not working out I go in just to do that stuff. Sometimes I go in the hot tub, then the sauna, then the steam room, with cold showers in between :-). This is what they recommend at the place we go to in France. But I have to be careful, as the sauna and steam room make me too relaxed, so I can't skate - I don't do that if I'm skating next day. Do you think one sweats more in a sauna or a steam room? Ahmed says the sauna, but I can't tell, since it's so wet in the steam room. I think steam room, myself, but I could be wrong - look how one sweats more in very humid weather. Like here - we are living in a steam room at the moment.... sigh.... at least one doesn't get quite so hungry! -- Annabel Smyth http://www.amsmyth.demon.co.uk/index.html Website updated 18 July 2004 |
