New clothes
Hello all,
I've lost eight inches off my waist since August 27th, 2003 and expect to lose another four to six inches or more by the time I reach my goal. Anyway I had been use to buying clothes at a local Big and Tall store near my house and they really have some nice clothes that I liked. I went in their store the other day and to my surprise they had no pants or fitted shirts that I could fit into (meaning I've gone down in size). I was both happy and sad. The guy told me that there is a great mall around the corner that had plenty of clothes stores in it. He said he wasn't able to buy anything there, but that I should be able to. I really don't care to shop at malls because they are usually expensive and I use to have problems finding clothes that fit in normal stores. Anyway, I visited a local store called Kohl's and they had a lot of very nice pants and shirts at great prices. I bought two ties for like $3.50 each, a very nice sweat shirt top for $6, a couple of fitted shirts for $15 each, another shirt for $6, and a great pair of Haggar Microfiber slacks that are really comfortable that weren't on sale at the time for $39.99. Another great thing was that there were clothes there that were too big for me to wear and that was a great feeling. I really look forward to reaching my goal weight cause I don't like having to buy clothes every time I lose a couple inches. I had been giving my larger clothes to charitable organizations, but have decided to start keeping clothes just in case I ever gain my weight back. I bought some $3 Rubbermaid tubs the other day and put away about 10 pairs of pants and 10 shirts. As I lose more weight I'll probably store more clothes away as well. If I maintain my goal weight for at least three to four years I'll probably give those clothes away as well. I hope everyone is doing well with there weight and maintenance, Paul 300/222/175 |

I can understand your dilemma. It's exhilerating when you shrink out of size, but you feel like you are constantly buying a new wardrobe. I think this is a wonderful, if expensive, milestone for you. Personally, I wouldn't save too many big clothes. I think you'd be more likely to stop any upward trends if you didn't have anything to wear! Keep up the good work. Hey Paul...
I know exactly where you are coming from... I am having the same "problem"! I've lost 9.5 inches off of my waist since Aug 13th, 2003... I am going to venture out for the first time in a regular store this weekend. "Paul" wrote in message ... We have a few Kohl's near us and I like shopping there but my favorite place is the mallg I like having everything in one place. Congrats on the new sizes. I'm sure you'll find it much easier to find things that fit now. I still have mixed feelings about keeping the larger sizes around. I only have my current size and a few things that are still just a tad tight around the waist. Beverly 177/ 148 / 140?? I have to go visit my friend in New York to shop there though (good excuse, huh? ;-) I always read that there was no point in keeping clothes that were too small in hopes of losing weight because if you lost weight, you would want NEW clothes. Some clothes styles are classic, but if you're talking about waiting 4 years, what are the chances you'll want to wear them? I would only keep one size bigger, but that's me. -- Walking on . . . New clothes
I have some smaller clothes still from years back, mostly jeans. I'm now
able to wear a few of them. I've even got some things that are medium and right now I'm wearing a extra large. I'm wearing a 40 waist currently down from 48. I had quite a few clothes in the 44's, but it didn't take me long to lose the waist line. The clothes that are 44 and under I will store away. I've given all the larger clothes away. I feel like I'm struggling right now with my weight. It definitely isn't coming off like it did the last five months, but I'm staying the course, being strong, and continuing to eat better than ever, so I have no doubt I'm going to make it at least to 200 pounds and hopefully to my goal of 175.
