Default Sugar narcotics connection

I read an interesting story in a paper here. Local authorities had
started up a meal program for kids with drug problems. The idea was to
reduce their sugar intake by offering non junk food. Better control of
blood sugar and avoiding insulin rollercoasters supposedly made them
less keen on taking narcotics. The perils of sugar seem to stretch very
far.
