Weekend
I managed to stay on my WOE all weekend despite some very temping
situations. Friday night I attended a BBQ and turned down almost everything on the menu except the meat. Saturday I spent cleaning one of my rental properties that I had to evict some folks from last month (very hard situation) and they left my house in a complete wreck - upon doing this for some time now with rental property, I have decided human beings are basically just pigs on 2 legs instead of 4. I took water, coldcuts & cheese slices with me for me and my kids who were helping me clean out the house. Would have been really easy to pick up junk food afterwards for the kids lunch and mine as well. Saturday night we went to a fish fry and for those of you who are not familiar with a fish fry it is where you go to someone's home or gathering place and they fry vats of catfish filets breaded with cornmeal out over open flame in peanut or some other high heat oil. The also usually do french fries and hushpuppies and ALWAYS alot of beer. Needless to say I had 1 piece of the fish, 2 hushpuppies and no beer Sunday I went to a big celebration at Mark's(yes we are tentatively back together at the moment and it's been hell getting to this point) church ...small local Baptist church.. maybe 100 regular members and they had dinner on the grounds. As you can imagine there was the typical southern fare there of BBQ, Beans, Cole Slaw, Potato Salad, and every dessert imaginable, from cakes, cobblers, fudge, Mississippi Mud, etc. All of them to die for. I decided on one breast of BBQ chicken, a portioned serving of pintos and a portioned serving of coleslaw. It was SO difficult to stay out of the desserts. But I did and I am really pleased with my dedication even though I am not losing like I think I should be since I'm stalled currently. I am still very pleased with the fact I am not gaining. Staying on my WOE is so easy if I am at home. It's the being out at functions and events that is difficult. Anyhow that was my weekend, How was ya'lls? Weekend

I am really pleased with my dedication even though I am not losing like I think I should be since I'm stalled currently. I am still very pleased with the fact I am not gaining. Anyhow that was my weekend, How was ya'lls? Hello Susan and everyone...... I had a really good weekend - which started on Friday when I went fishing from Aberdovey and caught a sea bass! (Quite elusive fish in British waters). Only 2lb fish - but is now residing in my freezer waiting for a suitable celebration. Saturday I loafed about trying to recover from feeling sore all over - being battered about on the boat has left me with my usual assortment of bruises. Sunday I was planning to go for a long walk, but ended up helping a friend to shift parts of a fireplace and going for a shorter walk instead. And - better news scales wise - I lost 5 pounds last week and so have lost 15lbs in total (just over a stone!) in four weeks. Woooooooo! (Sorry Cellach 274/259/224 (mini goal) |

Oh well, I didn't lose any weight, but I lost a half inch off my hips, so that's good news. I got some good workouts in, mostly due to needing to release my frustrations. Ah well, life goes on.... I also found a great bus to take to the ski slopes this winter. It's cool, they pick you up, feed you breakfast and drop you off later that night. And with the lift ticket included, it'll make skiing easy this year, especially for me with no car. : ) Martha |

Most impressive, Susan! I've no doubt you'll end your stall soon. We
all have them :-). Chris (who would be happy to weigh in today at last week's weight, but isn't expecting it!) |

Friends over on Thursday, Company Party on Friday, Birthday party for my hubby on Saturday, then out at a club last night. Ate decently at all, drank a little much on Friday, and danced like a maniac on Sat/Sun, so a good weekend all in all. Mieko 232/202.5/200 by 10/25 mini-goal |

Weekend
Thanks for asking, but I had a semi-lousy weekend. I had more of those
chicken fingers (I know, Chris, you said to stay away), but it was a pure emotional eat because I left for break at work very upset at a co-worker. I looked them up on the restuaurant's nutritional guidelines, and all I will say is they are a heart attack in a box...and they were not Mcdonald's..even worse. In any event, at least I didn't start the week higher than last week, but I undid all my week's prorgress (I am one of those people that can gain, and have on many occasions, 5-6 pounds in ONE DAY and then work a week to get it off.) However, the good news is, I finally got my husband to help me try rearranging furniture in view of redoing our main level. He always asks me why he has to do the heavy lifting since I am the one doing the olympic style lifting and I always tell him I don't want to break a nail. For some reason that works. On a positive eating note, I got a new food scale today. I like it because it automatically sets to 0 after you put a plate, or whatnot, on it. I was whining to Tom today that I was eating within guidelines, except for the one aforementioned cheat, and that I wasn't losing weight like I used to be able to on the same levels 2 years ago. He basically told me that it was too bad, it was the way I was made and that I had to deal with it...he said this as only Tom can (Chris knows) without causing insult but giving tremendous amounts of motivation. He made me think that I have to really look again at how I am eating and that's why I got the scale. I hereby promise to measure everything and not assume that that bowl of whatever is 8 oz when it could be 15. Maybe I am not eating what I think I am. Well, I feel better now having vented a little. Weekend
Congrats on sticking with the woe over the weekend. It will become easier
and just become habit after awhile. I had hoped to bike to a local festival but it was cold and rainy so we didn't chance getting caught on the bike trails in a thunderstorm. We drove instead. We did a lot of walking and I stuck to my small bag of kettle corn instead of other junk food I even bypassed the sweet potato fries this year. They just didn't appeal to me. We did a lot of eating out this weekend and my fridge is loaded with leftovers we brought home from the restaurants. I have chicken breasts, a pork chop and 1/2 a steak. The portions were just too much for one person and I filled up on salad and vegetables and didn't even eat the meat at a couple places. Beverly "Susan Jones-Anderson" wrote in message ... Some restaurants are getting with the times though and offering broiled fish and baked potato. The only fish fry I like is when my friend does his walleye with his secret recipe (we only know he gets some kind of spice mix through mail order from Louisiana) and cooks it in a big cast iron skillet on an outdoor burner. Sunday I went to a big celebration at Mark's(yes we are tentatively back together at the moment and it's been hell getting to this point) church ..small local Baptist church.. maybe 100 regular members and they had dinner on the grounds. Susan 260/219(STILL!)/160 The weekend was good, thanks. Spent part of a day at Cranberry Fest and resisted the urge for a slice of the "World's Largest Cranberry Cheesecake." Got more fresh cranberries for the freezer (they keep for a year) and made a lovely sugar-free cranberry sauce (not the jellied kind) which goes great with my baked potato or my shakes. Also made a cranberry-orange compote which will be done in a few days. Made home made salsa with chipolte peppers, went overboard in sampling it and got seriously ill for a few hours. The Packers won so it was all good. The Cubs even won even though I still sorta don't care about baseball. Your stall will end eventually. Like you said, at least you aren't gaining and you are practicing good decision making skills rather than throwing in the towel - which I've done numerous times in the past. Keep it up because you really are accomplishing something. Jenn |
