Default Lemon juice to cleanse the liver

Has anyone heard of using lemon juice to cleanse the liver? I met a woman
today and she was telling me about how she uses fresh lemons and splenda to
make a lemonade drink that she says cleans out her liver. She also told me
about boiling a certain type of black tea that will boil away or change the
structure of the tea to benefit your brain without the caffine(sp?).

I have heard that taking milk thistle (available in the health food store)
really helps the liver.

Agreed. Imagine thinking anything with Splenda would do anything good for
the liver. That was funny to read. I suggest drinking water would be best.
Unfortunately where I live, I need to buy my water due to how terrible it is
out of the tap. I even need to filter water for cooking. I suspect water
in much of the US is really not very good for us, so distilled and filtered
spring is what I drink.

Of course it works, & I can prove it.

Search for 'lemon jiuce' in the following scientific paper.

On the Escribe Atkins support board, someone once posted a process
to cleanse the liver that involved lemon juice and olive oil. They
claimed it was a quote from Doctor Atkins Age Defying Diet Revolution.
When I searched in that book, sure enough it was not there. I never
found out where they'd gotten the story from and why they imagined
no one actually had a copy of the book to look it up.

Lemon juice isn't bad for you so it shouldn't hurt you. Olive oil
isn't bad for you and has the added benefit that it will exercise
the gall bladder and so possibly break loose some gallstones to
help clear out your gall bladder, but then again so will a nice
steak dinner.

If you find a real reference for it, feel free to post a link to it.
