Wow - didn't realize that all of our parents had a "busy January" many years
ago! : ) My DH is October 13 and I am October 27. Between DH and I we
have about 8 October Birthdays in our family. Once again - those cold
January evenings!!

My birthday was two days ago -- September 25. My mother always swore
that I was the result of a drunken moment of passion on Christmas Eve,
on the floor in front of the fireplace.

Nice way to start life, if it's true :-) Impossible to think of my
parents that way, though ... ack.

I don't think I'll ever be a girly girl. I listen to the girly girls at
work discussing the latest sale, the cute and sassy outfit they just bought,
shoes, hair, make-up, handbags, etc and I just *don't get it*

What cranks my handle is stuff like:

- Not only do I know where the dipstick is and what it's for, I can change
the oil in my 4X4 all by myself (provided the mechanic hasn't done the sump
plug up too tight!)

- I can change my own car tyre (and have done so with monotonous
regularity - I seem to attract flats - tyres & batteries ... ). Even if I do
have to use a spade to lift the 4X4 wheel up on to the nuts 'cause it's so
heavy.

[if you're getting the impression by now that I have zilch upper body
strength, you'd be right!]

- I can hold my own off-roading with all the boys, cuss with the best of
'em, listen to heavy rock up real loud ... [eh? what? can't hear ya!]

- I get pumped at the sound of a V8 engine

- Love to go and watch street drags, don't mind the smell of burning rubber.
Even get a little choked up with pride when my big brother is racing

- Only sport I'll watch on TV is motorsport

- In my wild younger days when I used to drink, I could drink most of my
male friends under the table ...

- My biggest vice nowadays is spending too long playing computer games

I guess that's what happens when you grow up with two older brothers and a
mum who's also not a very girly girl.

Hey, when it's cold out there is no doubt more.. "snuggling" under the
covers going on than in other months.

Cool!!! I don't know much about cars, but I can use power tools and build
stuff. I built some of my own furniture, I own my own drill and I'm saving
up for a power miter saw. I prefer playing sports to watching them, and
I'm quite competitive, especially at bowling, but I will play absolutely
any sport if asked. I can also burp on command. So there are some non-
girly girl things about me too, but I still love cute clothes and painting
my toe nails.

Going through a lot of batteries? Hmm, have you checked for an short?

I'm a semi/quasi girly girl sometimes, I find myself getting excited
about getting new clothes. I suspect that's because I'm losing
weight, and am constantly being surprised by my new sizes, each
smaller than the last.

But, I can also run a wire harness, diagnose a balky vcr, or sound
board, read a volt meter, ohm meter, and ammeter, solder, and build a
pc board like nobody's business. I've built my own computers too.
And I have a ham licence. :-)

Mine is Oct 22, the ol' cusp of Libra. When I go to Mexico next week I
will be celebrating my wedding anniversary (oct 7) as well as my now
deceased grandmother's 100th birthday (oct 7) and her wedding
anniversary (oct 7) which she shared with her sister, as they had a
double wedding on that date (in 1930 something) My dad was an Oct 26th
baby, my bro a Sept 29th baby (Happy B-day Bro!)

I have many reasons to be raising a glass of Margarita's to toast
various special days. I am afraid on Oct 7th I will be crawling back
to the resort!

Pam ~~wondering how a 10 minute walk to town translates into timewise
as a crawl back afterwards!

Whoooo hoooo!
