Default No Resolution...Just Do IT!

Well I didn't make a resolution this year and I did not start Low Carb (or I
should say re start) on January 1, 2005 as I didn't want the cliché or
stigma of the New Year Resolution Gang.

I re stared on December 30, 2004!!!

For those that are old timers here, I'm Desi. Started this WOL way back in
the dark ages, before this NG got started, 1997! Lost weight was doing
great, slipped a few times. Had thyroid caner, gained a few pounds back due
to slow thyroid, but nothing major....UNTIL I had a baby, Simon, and gained
a considerable amount of weight.

Now with me going into my 4th decade later this year I didn't want to face
40 with this weight issue looming and wanted to re take control of my life,
health and well being. SO here I am back on this WOE/WOL and doing just
fine, not making excuses and just saying NO to those bad carbs.

For those that find themselves slipping or can't get back on the wagon or
have doubts about the second, third, fourth, or even fifth time around, IT
is possible to re start, you just have to want it and be resolute in your
heart and soul and your mind will follow.

What I've done also this time is break my goal up so things won't seem
overwhelming to me. My first goal is to get to 220, then 190, then 175 and
a new all time low of 160. After 160 on low carb then I'm going to take up
weight training to reach my ultimate goal of maybe 140-130. For anyone
wondering why the odd mini goals, those are milestones for me of the weight
I had lost previously on LC and stayed at for a while. The 140-130 is
because with muscle you may weight heavier but wear a size smaller size so I
won't get hung up on a number on the scale.

SO my stats
240/230/220 first goal.

Thanks for reading and still being here!

g I always figure that if it's good enough to make it a
'resolution' it's good enough to start right away - why wait until
January 1st?

Sorry to hear you've had such a rough trot, Desi, but I'm glad you're
getting things under control.

Sounds like a good plan. While dividing into minigoals for ME didn't
help much a lot of people find it is very useful.

Welcome back, and good luck on you LC journey.

Are you sure, 96? I seem to remember a lot of people in ASD and many
battles with 'Judy' then me and a few others writing to our prospective ISP
to add ASD-LC. The start of 1997 is when my ISP finally added ASD-LC to the
line up. IF it was 96, it was Nov/Dec then and I was still on ASD. But
hey, the point is, it's here!

Yeah, no time like the NOW to start anything.

NOOOOOOO!!!!! My 5th?????? Get out! I'm only counting by 10's. 10, 20,
30, 40!

Don't make me older, but then again I'm looking exceptional for 50!

ASDLC started in February of 1998, if that helps the memory. :-)

Your first decade is the years from birth-10, the second 11-20, etc. Want
to talk about the millenium which started in 2001? Unlike counting ages,
the first year of which is 0 and ends when you turn 1, the year 1 started
the count of modern time so that the first decade ended at the end of 10 or
New Year's Day of year 11.
