Default Breyer's Low Carb Ice Cream - Experiment

The new grocery store in town features "Low Carb" signs to draw
attention to specialty foods .... and indiotically much of the meat
department also has "Low Carb" signs scattered all over.

"Low Carb" was on the door to the Breyer's Ice Cream freezer section and
there was the Carb Smart product.

I bought Pecan Praline.......

Bad News #1 TASTE - It tasted just fair. Nothing like the regular Breyer's.

Bad News #2 ADDICTION / Gluttony - I ate three bowls, two before dinner
and then one for dessert.

Goos News - I had the wisdom, finally, to put the uneaten portion of the
1/2 gallon into the trash.

It wasn't too costly an experiment to determine that I still don't have
the will power or discipline to entertain Ice Cream purchases for my
second summer of LC eating.

Last summer, as a good scientist, I repeated the experiment three times
to establish proper statistics :-)

I bought the chocolate and thought it tasted incredible.

I don't buy it anymore either. Too tempting to keep around. If they made
little cups I would buy it on demand.

I know exactly what you mean! I can't have the half gallons in the house
either, the portion control just isn't there.
I can buy ice cream if I buy it in the form of a pop or Dixie cup.

I keep a 1/2 gallon of breyer's Carb Smart in the freezer; every couple of
days or so when I get the urge I scoop out three tablespoons or so (about
1/4 cup) into an old-fashioned custard cup, which is just the right size to
hold it and make it look like the adequate portion that it is. You need to
get rid of your big bowls, not your Carb Smart!

But anyway, how can you eat three bowls of SF ice cream without your gut
exploding? The one time I overate it, I had stomach cramps and pains and
spend an hour in the bathroom. The sugar alcohols are murder! Yes, they
advertise on the box that it's Splenda sweetened, but in the fine print it
has the sucralose in addition to the ubiquitous sugar alcohols. That one
experience was enough to keep me from ever overeating it again!

I think the Breyer's Carb Smart ice creams taste excellent. That is
the ones that have 4g net, not the 0 carb one
