Scott Fiore has a question about Stevia
Now that artificial sweeteners have been linked to weight gain, I am
wondering if Stevia would have the same effect on the brain. Does anyone have an opinion on this? Thanks! Scott Fiore |

Scott Fiore My guess would be yes. 1. There are claims that the gastrointestinal tract includes taste organs, even if we don't consciously perceive it. 2. I have read (in Taubes) that just the anticipation of a meal leads to a "first wave" of insulin release. more insulin, more body fat Sweetness is associated with carbs, which require the most insulin. It would be surprising if sweet but calorieless foods didn't trigger increased insulin. |
