Default Day 7 and 7 pounds gone.

Day 7 and 7 pounds gone

I got on my scale today and saw that my indicator went down to 250
pounds. So that is 7 pounds gone in seven days. Most of it is water,
but at least water going away is good for blood pressure, better
health, etc.

I am walking up a nearby rather high hill and it takes me about 40
minutes to get to the top of the hill and then to bike down to my
car. (Yesterday I was halfway up before I discovered I did not have
my bike helmet with me. I continued up anyway and was careful and
coming down.) This always involves perspiration and a heck of a lot
of it. Very good for me, especially given my gout condition and also
left heel tendinitis. I wear heavy hiking boots so I don't flex my
feet much and this helps control the tendinitis. About a year and a
half ago I thought I might have to have surgery to my left knee as
well as tendinitis surgery, but it is amazing what can be done through
physical therapy.

I'm probably averaging between 1000 and 1200 calories a day.
Sometimes a little bit more than that, but not much more. (It sure is
easier to overdo it in two under do it.) My little hourly chants are
quite helpful in reminding me of what I need to do to continue my
progress and reminding me also of what progress I've made. The hourly
reminders appeared to be very effective in maintaining motivation and
I can see now why religious organizations engage in regular chants.
Seems to me to be even more helpful than trying to pick out a certain
date to try to diet too. Just keep at it and praise yourself a lot for
your accomplishments. This might be very effective in many more things
than dieting.

I hope everyone makes their health goals!

Yours,

Caleb
