Default Hello...

Hi, I've just joined weight watchers last weekend, my sister in law paid for
the membership! she totally rocks...

I have been dragged to and from weight programs since I was a child and even
when I was 'normal' weight... so I've never felt good about myself until
now... funny that... and I'm wayyyy too heavy...

Last year I quit stress smoking entirely... and gained weight of course...
year before, got rid of the husband... and this year... doing the weight
thing... and I don't want to do a 2 out of three aint bad thing...

I know I should follow the points but I'm always hungry at bedtime so I've
started to have most of my starch points at bedtime and it seems to help...
but with all these veggies it seems like I'm eating more... I suppose I
could use some support and such for this drastic change in diet... sigh...
or see what others have done when first starting out on this program...

it may take a bit for me to get use to all these veggies, it just hurts my
stomach... I am also diabetic but am controlled with a pill and diet... I
rarely crave sweets, but I've noticed I could certainly use a kitkat right
about now since Ive started this diet... LOL...

now is that physical or psychological??? *G*

Hope to get to know you all soon!!

Carrie

Default Hello...

welcome, as the bar, probably both, try making the changes slowly if you
have to, work towards them, don't think of it as ON or off, and you might
want to consider core as an option, Lee

Default Hello...

Thank you guys for the welcome...

I'm trying not to think of this as a diet persay, but a completely different
way of eating kind of lifestyle...

its kind of working... I have changed how I cook, and what I cook for the
most part... been doing that for a year already and being consistent with it
too... also been stopping eating when I feel full regardless of whats left
over on my plate... luckily for me I have a lab dog *if you know a lab you
know they are NEVER full* who will happily finish what I can't so I don't
have anything to nibble at making me feel icky...

I found these wonderful icecream bar like things, rasberry swirl and orang
swirl *real fruit* and low fat ice cream, that are only worth 2 points on
the ww plan... hee... I have been eating those to stave off my chocolate bar
craving... its been working...

I have 35 points/day and I made some homemade lasagna and I have no idea how
many points that is... but after weighing myself this morning, I've actually
lost whan I could have sworn that I gained....

oh well... perhaps it was water retention or something...

I might consider the core later on... right now I'm going to have my daily
soup, crab asparagus soup... num... and try and figure out how much my
lasagna is worth... I used everything low fat, and extra spinach and
tomatoes... and less cheese than normal... still very good...

Post your recipe and we can figure out the points in the lasagna for you.
Are you doing flex or core? I am doing flex. I have a new book from WW,
just arrived today. Maybe it has a recipe for WW lasagna in case you are
interested.

Default Hello...

the way we do these things is to list everything, name of food, total
calories for food, total fat and total fiber...after you get all the foods
listed, then add the calories, fat and fiber... then figure how many
servings, then divide your totals by the servings, then you have per serving
amounts and you can figure the points from that, Lee
