Default The importance of considering 'body image' when dieting

How you perceive your body is highly related to dieting. Body image is
a term used to classify your subjective views regarding how you look.
For instance, if you have a poor body image you are much more likely
to want to try different diets.

Body image dissatisfaction runs deep. Often when people diet, and make
losses they feel great initially, but over time often people gradually
put the weight back on. One reason for this is because they have done
well in making changes to their body, but they have not changed the
way that they think. Treated body and left mind, if you will. Research
shows that if people engage in activities that promote how they see
themselves, often weight loss is easier, and more importantly, it
stays off for longer. Also it can increase well-being. The message is,
diet but also work on your psychological body image. How can you do
that? ...

We are running a web-based study from the University of Plymouth, UK
offering the chance to try free self-help workbooks designed to make
you feel better about your body.

We need as many people as possible to get involved, the study can be
done from anywhere in the world!
