"Are you an alky AND carb addict?
Myra"

Actually, Im mostly a pot-head.

I already gave up the weed because of the psycho-munchies, which was
truly sad. Giving up the wine isnt that big a deal.

Trying to have one or two four oz. glasses would be harder than giving
it up altogether, for me at least.

Jim sez...
"Lots of people don't like George Bush,
either, he does the same thing. Tells the
truth whether people want to hear it or not. "

LassChance sez...
now, Jim......I Llke and respect you. A lot. But come on now. "We're in
this war for humanitarian reasons" is right up there with "your check is
in the mail" and "Trust me, Im sterile".

"There are about ten zillion factors that

Amen. One of mine is, I dont deal well with "should". Im too old, too
tough and been paying my own rent way too damn long to be told "should"
by anydamnbody.

Im ok with, "what works is..." or "what doesnt work is...." but "should"
is like a red cape to a cross-eyed bull.

Jesus Christ has my permission to say 'should" to me, or his Old Man.
Anybody short of that....
tell it to the hand. (or, BIOYA, to borrow a term!)

You may be an adult, but you're acting like a
two-year-old, stomping your foot, saying "I don't
have to" and doing the drama queen thing. You
start Atkins without knowing what the heck you're
doing, and when you're told what the books say,
you get in a huff. No low-carb book will suggest
that you drink an entire bottle of wine every day,
but I suppose since you don't like being told what
to do, you'll do it anyway. If you want to fail,
it's your life, but I wish you luck with your
low-carb journey anyway.

Thanks for the helpful comment, Marsha. No, I didnt read the book at
all. or any other book, actually, since about 1980.

Sarcasm duly noted.

I did order it on tape, however and am expecting it pretty much any time
now. The Library for the Blind has 11 copies---all were "out".

You were given a link to the Atkins site a few weeks ago, which gives a
list of approved items. I'm assuming since you can read the newsgroup, you
can also read that site. If not, my apologies. Aside from that, a bottle
of wine per day would qualify you as an alcoholic. You responded to a
post back in May that you only wanted a drink when you were hungry, but
then that "led you to another" and so on. You shouldn't be getting
hungry on induction, and most of your carbs should be coming from
vegetables.

Yep, that pretty much sums it up.

Guess I'm thick-headed, I didn't actually see any sarcasm there.

lol

What I did see was someone excpress their particular lifestyle. We all have
different ways of living, and focusing on a WOE may not be prevalent for
some.

OP -asked- for advice, then was given advice by several people (on the
alcohol, on where to go for general guidelines until she could get the
book, on how to do induction in general, etc.).

She didn't follow the advice, -and- is now expressing a bit of
surprise over the results.

So yeah, people are naturally going to comment a bit.

There are about ten zillion factors that make us each unique, and I
have my faults like anyoe else.

I wish to subscribe to your newsletter. I'll need to make the check
out to 'I'm OK, You're OK' Enterprises, right?

I just don't like the idea of getting
judgemental about anyone.

Does simply stating the facts equal "judgmental" to you?
If so, tfb. This is ASDLC, not ASDLC kumbaya.

Just me!

Me too. Wheeeee!

Help me out with something here.
In one post, you're touting JC as the man, then a few posts later,
you're schoolmarming Marcia for telling it like it is.
(not that I have a problem with either one of them...)

What gives?
It's the sunglasses, right?

LOL

It's because she's a Yankee.

I think it's because he's being inconsistent.

Either that, or there was a teary eyed moment there where he decided
to get in touch with his inner child.

"There is always Diviners sage......"Om

Now....tha's a new one for me. I'm, uh....familiar with Blue Salvia,
Dream herb, ayahuasca, Yopa, amd wood rose...., but I'll have to look
into Diviner's sage. Anything with "Diviner's" in it cant be all bad.

Better iving thru botanicals....

Jeeeez, Marsha. Nobody's shot or bleeding. Take a breath.

Ever consider a career in professional Domination? Some men will pay BIG
bucks for the teacher-with-the-paddle thing. All you need is some kinky
shoes and a pruney, tight-assed, superior attitude. So, you're halfway
there.
