Default Feed a cold?

Whine. Moan. Complain. Sniffle. To get over this cold, I need to push
fluids. I know it; I can feel it. I so don't want water! Cold water hurts my
throat, and makes me cough. I've been drinking herbal tea with sugar or
splenda, but after 2 cups of that, I don't want any more. Soup? Same thing!

I don't feel like eating at all, so it has been hard eating my target points
this week.

Suggestions?

Try Ginger ale or other 'clear' soda. Veggie bouillon cubes.
Sherbet ... let it get kinda slushy. Popsicles.

Jell-O water ... is that okay? I remember that was a remedy years
ago but I can't remember why, nor if it might cause a "social
problem" nor can I recall the proportions. I am sure someone can
help with this.

How about Apple Juice? Maybe warm apple juice with a dash of
cinnamon would be pleasing.

Take care. PAT in VA/USA

Sorry about you being under the weather, Wendy. I always found Gingerale or soda
water helped quite a bit. Hurry up & get well.

Wendy --

Hope you are feeling much better soon. How about tomato soup or warm apple
cider.

Wendy, big hugs headed your way. I know how miserable a summer (well, I
guess it's fall now) cold can be. I had one this summer & I felt just like
you - absolutely awful. Don't worry about the whining, etc., etc., I would
be, too.

I'm digging in the memory banks here, from all the years of fixing jello water for
my kids when they were sick. If I remember correctly, you just double the amount
of water the recipe calls for. If the box requires 2 cups of water, add 4 cups (I
used cold water). Mix well and chill. It never seemed to cause any problems with
my kids, and was highly recommended by the physicians.

I have never heard of Jello Water.

While I have drunk hot jello on winter camping trips (thick and
syrupy), I have never heard that it was good for colds (which I have
at the moment, too)
