Nitrite/nitrate free stuff
At the local heath food store, I've been purchasing Applegate Farms
products. I found out that they have a website: http://www.applegatefarms.com/ Their stuff is very good, but pricey. -- Bob M in CT Remove 'x.' to reply |

You know what else is really good is the free range beef. I'm not sure if it's Applegate Farms, but it's excellent. -- Bob M in CT Remove 'x.' to reply |

I don't eat a lot of beef but will consider that for a treat sometime. It's expensive but I'm sure the taste reflects that. One thing I bought at our natural foods store (Whole Foods Market, formerly Bread and Circus) last week that was REALLY good was a frozen piece of wild Alaskan salmon, not the farmed stuff that now they are finding too high a level of PCBs in. I thawed it and baked it at a high temp (450F) with some butter, lemon juice, and dill on it, just until cooked, not dry. Wow! it was good. I'm going back for another piece to have tonight, while the kids eat pizza. :-) - Anne |

Thanks for the tip. -- Bob M in CT Remove 'x.' to reply |

I HATE the farmed stuff. -- Jean B. |

What's the deal with Nitrates?
I eat lots of packaged slices of Black Forest ham as a snack -- 285/236/210 6' 1 " Aug/03/03 "Yvonne" wrote in message ...
