s'ok Perple, I'm a chronic top poster as well. And I've been on Usenet
for years. Shall we cease this annoying habit and reform? LOL

First of all, most of us don't top-post. (Wave to Perple.)

I don't care where people post, as long as they snip the irrelevant
parts so someone has a clear context of what is going on in the
conversation ;-)

Too many people will quote a 500 line post in its entirety, and in a
superior "tone" proclaim "It's standard usenet protocol to post at the
bottom!", completely ignoring that it's ALSO standard usenet protocol to
give the post a good ole haircut.

Well, I do care (Susan got my hopes up until I realized she was kidding)
because I have to go and cut and paste people into bottom posting when I
reply to their replies in a thread so that it can be read and followed.
But it's not my Cause of the Week. Really. Even though this is my
second post on this. I *do* realize that I don't get to set the rules
for the world. (Wave to Martha.)

I totally agree with this and had to go check my post to make sure I
snipped! It'd be like the usenet rule about spelling flames, i.e., that
every spelling flame has its own grammatical or spelling error in it.

What really made bottom posting cease to be a scrolling adventure to me
was finding out that the space bar will page down in the 3 different
newsreaders I've used. It's easy to get there s

I top posted when I first started... because Outlook Express always
put me right there. I have since mended my ways with Agent.

Let's put it this way, it's an easier habit to break than not eating
