After Yo-Yoing on Atkins for 2 months(so-so at best) I felt SO FREE
yesterday when I had lunch with a friend at Denny's and had their Pot
Roast(8 POINTS-Yum!) and my veggies were....
BOTH sides of MASHED POTATOES!!!!! (2pts each, btw)

I was SO overwhelmed that I could have them. I know this sounds silly, but
when I read a book like Atkins, the sugar/carb no-no's become laughable when
I can lose weight eating them anyway--on WW.

BTW, I look forward to stocking the freezer with WW desserts again-woo-hoo!

I will say that some of the tenets of Atkins are valuable, as too much sugar
will have an effect, but while I'm dropping the weight, I won't pay too much
attention to the Low Carb regimen-besides, how can you go through Christmas
without enjoying the goodies-making sure they're pointed out?

All Pumped Up!

Boy, you have certainly learned a lesson ;-D WW's is the only way to go, as far
as I'm concerned. You can eat almost everything & still lose weight - I love it

Welcome aboard, Glenn. I too did Atkins and found it difficult to stay on. I
know people that have been very sucessful on it while others, like myself,
failed on it. I find WW so much easier to follow and enjoy the foods I love.
Just eat in moderation and you can't lose.

So what's in your freezer?

Funny, I was having teriaki chicken with rice and salad at a
restaurant today and a co-worker passes by. She says: "You can't have
rice!" And I reply: "I am NOT on Atkins, I'm on WW!" She says: "Oh,
you lost so much weight, I thought it was Atkins!"

There you have it. WW works with rice (G)

I agree that Atkins brings important attention to the role of refined
sugar in the obesity/diabetes epidemic.

Good for you for recognizing that moderation and balance (and the
occasional indulgence) are more sustainable in the long run.

A WOE would be awful if potatoes and rice weren't allowed. We eat baked
potato probably 3-4 nights a week.

Rice and potatoes are very popular in our household. We couldn't do without
them either!

Great to hear that from you, Glenn... WW IS a wonderful thing and I DO feel
free on it too... it's great to be able to nibble here and there on
"off-limits" type foods. Keep up that attitude and you will be a BIG loser.
