You'll certainly lose weight with this level of calories and exercise; though I think it's rather too little food for the amount of exercise you were doing. If you don't mind me asking, what's your age and gender? And what are your goals? I don't recall seeing your logs here before. Are you just starting to post here? Hope you'll continue! Today's Food and Exercise Log
I did lose a pound when I checked today.
Yes, I am a newbie here. I don't mind at all for you to ask; I am a 23 year old, 5'6 female. My goals are to lose weight and fat (I want to be 130 and am currently 146) and tone up. I want my Body Fat percentange to be 20 or less and it is 24 now. My goal is December to meet everything. I have been working out since school let out out in early May and have went from 160 to 146, so I am getting there, slowly. I do the exercise that I posted above about 2-3 times a week, spaced out, and the other couple days I go, I do cardio for about an hour. My body fat has dropped from 28- 24 so that should be where I want it by December, hopefully. I am not nearly as toned as I want to be. I had a baby in May 06 so my stomach is still like jello. I am REALLY hoping to lose that by December. I have a really hard time eating healthy because I am no good at turning down food that us around me. I could eat healthy if I stayed at home all the time, but I have a hard time in the evening when I pick up my son from my mother's house and she is cooking. I also have a hard time at lunchtime at work because I want to go out to eat with other people that are going and want me to go. So, I saw how you keep your log here and I thought that was a good idea because I will have someone telling me "man you had a crappy day of eating" and maybe that will drive me to be more conscientious about my food choices. Thanks for the comments. On Aug 18, 8:00 am, Chris wrote: On Aug 17, 11:39 pm, Shauhnathan wrote: This was one of my medium days- foodwise. Chris 262/130s/130s- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - Thanks for the added info. I actually thought you might be a guy, because you do some more interesting weight work than the average woman :-). Given your gender and size, you probably aren't undereating as much as I'd thought. But you're right, you do need to work on the nutrition. A couple of thoughts: a) Re going out to lunch with colleagues: I used to do that too and it really makes it harder to lose weight. At some point I noticed that all the folks I was going out with were overweight. (This probably isn't as likely in your case, since you're so much younger than I am, but they'll probably get there in time :-) .) Anyway, I started bringing my lunch to work -- generally a large salad with some grilled protein (salad from a stop at the supermarket the night before, and fish or meat grilled on my George Foreman grill). Bringing lunch saves you a lot of money and allows you to have a healthy meal. It's also good to have some healthy snack stuff at the office to nibble on during the day -- some fruit or mini-carrots or whatever. (If your workplace has a refrigerator that's particularly nice.) You might want to think about set aside just one day a week -- say Fridays -- for lunch out with colleagues, and eat in the rest of the time. I also got into taking lunchtime walks several times a week with one of my colleagues. You might find that some of the folks you work with prefer a healthier alternative like this. b) Re eating at your mom's when you pick up your son: That's fine, in principle, but why is your mother making pizza for dinner? This seems like an odd choice. Does she usually make healthier meals? Can you talk to her about possibly doing so? You will want to think about your son's nutrition, and the example that's being set for him. Chris 262/130s/130s |

Today's Food and Exercise Log
Ha, nope, I'm a girl, but I'm used to people thinking I am a guy
because my name's Shauhn. I do a lot of weight training because I'm on a workout plan from a personal trainer and then I also do other stuff that she didn't include that I need to tone up. Taking lunch to work and then taking a walk at lunch is a good idea. Or I could go to my gym, which is down the street, which I have done on occasion. I'm just not sure how I feel about walking in 100 degress or working out and getting sweaty for the rest of the day while I'm at work. My office-mate might kick me out for stinking. Haha. But, I think the eating out problem will be getting easier because I start back to school next week and I will be working less and my days will be split up and stuff, so I won't be there a full 8 hour day at all, so I won't be leavin for lunch. I'll probably just pack a lunch to eat in the car between school and work. Well, this day when I had pizza, it was not at my mother's house. I had that somewhere else. Typically, she does cook healthier, but she is definitely not a health but of anything. She is not aware of the calories she's packing into some of the things she cooks. She makes lots of casseroles, which are really good, but have mayonnaise and stuff in them. She also makes macaroni and cheese alot. She makes rolls and high-carb sides like that, also. When she makes steamed vegetables, I am good to go, but I always tend to have too much of the other stuff she has cooked also. I have a hard time keeping with regular portion sizes when she cooks because it's usually really good. She is also big on dessert, so she makes that almost every night. So, these things are hard for me to resist, in effect, going to her house definitely has a negative impact on my weight loss.
