I weighed in yesterday and had a 1.2 gain. I was in NYC for five days
and the previous week I had a 1.2 loss so I'm not complaining one bit.
What I love about WW is I can get back on the program, which is what I
did yesterday with exercise, lots of water and exactly my 22 points.
It's a good feeling.

A lady at our meeting who made lifetime yesterday said she goes to
meetings throughout CA because she travels a lot for her job. In
Stockton her leader is 80 years old, has been lifetime for 38 years and
is sharp, witty, energetic and a great inspiration and role model for
anyone who wants to see what it looks like to be on WW throughout most
of your life.

I've been lifetime for 33 years and although I've had my share of gains,
this program is absolutely awesome and it improves every single year.
Doctors and dieticians are learning more about the human body and as
they do, the program is tweaked and improved. I smiled reading Donna's
post abut losing weight and even being able to eat out. With WW you can
lead a normal life, enjoy your holidays as I did in New York and
maintain your weight. My 1.2 gain is no big deal. My feet and hands
were swollen from the heat and humidity from the time I got off the
plane. I ate at very fancy restaurants but WW taught me to make wise
choices. If I indulged in extra calories, it was my decision knowing
exactly what I was doing.

So, Lesanne, if you are reading this, I got out a brand new 12 week
tracker and I plan to do my best to get to and below goal by Labor Day.

Audrey,

You are a great role model for those of us who are new to the game
(relatively speaking!). Hope you enjoyed the trip.

Thank you. It really begins with having faith in the basic program.
It's not much different than any other calorie restrictive diet and
using the common sense that to lose weight you need to exercise and
limit caloric intake. It is more sensible though than fad diets, liquid
diets and other diets that don't last forever. Doug, who has no access
to Weight Watchers as it is in Great Britain and the United States can,
therefore, do something quite similar. He has figured out the amount of
calories his body needs to maintain health yet lose weight. The obvious
additional benefits of the WW program are the group support and tools.
When people begin this journey they have a hard time seeing the end, but
the end is sort of fun...

Today I had lunch with my two daughters at a country club. One of the
specials was the crab quesadilla with beans and rice and choice of soup
or salad. I really wanted it but I asked if I could have fresh fruit
instead of the starchy sides and I also asked for balsamic vinegar for
my salad. That allowed me to have a normal lunch out not blowing my
points for the day yet not being on a diet. This is how I make it work
all the time.

The trip was fabulous.

We ended up doing Chinese after golf and I was able to get them to steam me
some veggies and shrimp. With no rice and a bowl of hot and sour soup it was
a nice light supper.

Audrey,

You are talking about my beloved leader. She is only 72 and she is a great
inspiration to me. She actually fell in the meeting room last year and
broke her pelvis. She was back at work 8 weeks later in a wheel chair, she
did not want to be away from her members. She considers all of them as part
of her family.

Debbie, I knew there was someone here who went to that meeting. I'll
have to tell this lady not to age her leader more than she is.

She actually does a number of meetings. She is there on Thursday mornings,
Friday evenings and all four of the Saturday meetings. She is one of the
top leaders in her territory for weight lost by her members and also for
retention of members.

She is absolutely phenomenal!!!
