Default Cookie Day Tomorrow . . .

Hey all,

Today's been tough, but so far so good.

Tomorrow, at my mother-in-law's house is the annual "cookie day".. Where
we all get together and have a marathon baking, exchanging, decorating (very
fun for the kids) 'party'.

I've been LC-ing since 12/01/03 and having marginal success (238/232/165).
My DD and I baked about 7 doz. russian teacakes and made about 5 lbs of
peanut clusters and almond bark. I didn't realize how hard it was not to
take a taste here or a lick there, but I did it. No probs.

After tomorrow, I'll have to hide the cookies I'm forced to come home with
and bring them for everyone else to have on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

I thought about making a low-carb treat for my DH and I , but I haven't had
the initial big loss with induction and I'm afraid even a yummy (lc) cheese
cake would stall me. So I will just live vicariously through everyone else
enjoying the cookies and candy.

Craving cookies but abstaining . . . . .

Hang tough - it's worth it.

This is the point in the process when you get yourself something NOT
FOOD RELATED to treat yourself and get yourself out of wanting to do
something you really don't want to do...

Like a new blouse, just a tad tight, or...

You can do it!

Shoulda made 3 Low Carb Cookie batches...
let them tell you how delicious they were then drop the bomb that they were
low carb...
Maybe youd get a few converts....
I do it all the time to my moms office!

I'm a cookie monster, always have been...I can make a cake and bring
it into work for everyone else and not even be tempted...but if I walk
by a package of bakery cookies, soft and chewy...I know if I have ONE
I'll keep on until they're all gone. Buy yourself something luxurious
to eat instead, shrimp or lobster or filet mignon...or make a dish of
cream cheese sweetened with Splenda and some extract, vanilla,
chocolate or almond to eat when the cookies call your name. Do
whatever it takes to avoid committing a big carb dump that you'll
regret 10 minutes after it's over ('cause the pleasure only lasts as
long as the cookie is in your mouth, but the regrets will last quite
a bit longer...). Kalish
