Default Breakfast Alternatives Besides Eggs?

Actually that sounds very good. I have to go shopping for Almond Flour now

Thanks for this!

This includes eggs, but how about pancakes?
2 tbsp almond flour
1/2 cup cottage cheese
2 eggs

Blend well, and then cook on a skillet as you would pancakes. Makes about

4
4-inch pancakes. Serve with some butter and ... splenda and cinnamon, SF
maple syrup, sliced strawberries, some blueberries. Yum yum. I had this

for
breakfast this morning. It was delicious.

what's the difference? food is food.

not everyone gets up and eats "breakfast" in the morning, anyhow.

Yes, I hate breakfast food for breakfast. If I eat eggs, it's apt
to be at some other meal. Breakfast is usually leftovers or
something else that's quick.

i frequently have eggs for lunch or dinner.

i just have never understood the whole "eat this food only at this time
of day" mentality. you should (within reason and with regard to your
own personal dietary guidelines, obviously) eat what sounds good when it
sounds good. if that means eggs for dinner and tuna salad for
breakfast, then that's what it means. food is food.

I suspect that breakfasts tended toward quick and simple so people could
get on with their day. You have the rest of the day to slaughter a pig,
pick vegetables, grind wheat and cook a feast for dinner. It's traditional
because it's more practical, time-management-wise.

To me, it makes MORE sense, bodywise, to have a hearty BREAKFAST so that
one has a nice energy store for the rest of the day, whereas dinner is
really only to stave off hunger until you go to sleep.

That was exactly my point when I was stating the fact that tuna would not be
my first choice for breakfast.

You are right in saying "eat what sounds good when it sounds good" To me
tuna doesn't sound good as my first choice for breakfast. But again, that's
to "ME" ....whatever floats each person's boat regarding what they eat
whenever they eat. My first response to you was in a matter of personal
choice. Not a debate on what people should eat, when they eat it or the
mentality of some people have about labels and norms.

Anyways, thank you all for all your responses. I was given a lot of input
and suggestions and I am keeping them in mind. Some of the recipes replied
seem delicious and easy to do. I will try to follow them.

All the best for a low carb life..

Yes, I agree. I eat what appeals to me at the time. Luckily, my
stomach can handle that approach. I did once eat tuna in the
middle of the night (I think I had taken aspirin, and I decided I
needed to buffer it with some food)--not a good idea. Otherwise,
everything is fair game--except things that will keep me awake.

What could be quicker, simpler, and more hearty than leftovers?
That's another reason I sometimes invert my meals. I have more
time to fool around with egg dishes at night. Also, some
traditional breakfasts make a better light dinner IMO.

Think outside the box of traditional "breakfast foods"
Eating a "dinner food" at some time other than dinner isn't going to
make it "not breakfast"

I sometimes have chicken thighs and broccoli for breakfast, or salmon
and spinach.

Slaughtering a pig is also how people traditionally get bacon, too ;-)
So if people can have bacon for breakfast (I don't do porcine products)
with a side of hashbrowns "traditionally",

then they can certainly have a fist-sized meatball with a side of
cauliflower

i didn't mean that you should necessarily eat tuna...it was just an
example of something i like that isn't eggs

it is absolutely a personal choice. my only point, really, was that you
don't have to rely on "breakfast" foods. you can eat any old food that
you enjoy and call it breakfast. i probably could have stated it a
little more clearly. sometimes that second cup of coffee is a very,
very necessary thing!
