Default Good news/bad news (kind of)

On my last doctor's visit for a physical, I had to do the 'pee in the cup'
thing. When the doctor came in to talk to me a few minutes later, he said,
"Are you drinking enough water? You have a lot of ketones in your urine."
I told him that I had been doing Atkins since last October, and he just
nodded and gave me one of those "ohhhhkay" smiles. He's a rather young
doctor, so I really didn't expect to hear any Atkins pooh-poohing, and I
didn't get any.

Well, I asked him if he could order a complete blood workup for me as it had
been several years since my last one and I was curious about what my body
was doing. I just got my results back and my total cholesterol was 173.
I'm planning to call them tomorrow to get the breakdown, but the results
said that everything was normal.

Great news: We started our "10K a Day" program at work. The county health
dept. provided the participants with $25 pedometers for $5 each, and the
goal is to reach 10,000 steps per day. That's a little over 6 miles! We
have about a 90% participation rate for a staff of 60 people. Walking every
night for about 20 minutes after work helped me to shed about 3 pounds.

NOW, I'm just looking for that darned Whoosh Fairy. I'd been stupid and put
on about 5 pounds (thought I could add nuts to my diet, but I went
overboard.) Plus, my TOM is near, so I'm hoping that most of my problem is
water. So, if anyone gets a visit from the Whoosh Fairy, PLEASE send her my
way!!

There's no magic or fairies to this diet. Try eating less.

Most of us probably aren't in danger of eating too little.
