Lots of low carb stuff, and organic stuff, and generally healthy looking
stuff. I bought some low carb pasta, but haven't tried it yet. The
nutrition profile, compared to regular pasta, is phenomenal. High protein
and fiber, low carb and calorie.

If that's the Bella Vita brand that I bought there, I like it a lot. I
got the penne rigate which I like better than "normal" pasta.

I also bought some kashi good friends cereal. I tried it right out of the
box on the way home, and it's very tasty. Also high in fiber (8g) and
protein (9g), but high in carbs too (22g). This stuff is so crunchy though,
it's like chewing on gravel. It cut my gums like captain crunch used to
when I was a kid! 190 cal in a cup of cereal, plus 1c of nonfat milk, under
300 cal for breakfast. I need the fiber though, as lately I've been getting
like less than 10g per day...

Good Friends is pretty yummy. You may want to try Kashi's Go Lean!
(higher fiber than protein) or Nutritious Living Hi-Lo (higher protein
than fiber, but still a bit of fiber, 11 g carbs per serving in the
reformulate version). I mix those two, pour on some WestSoy Slender soy
milk (lower-carb soy milk sweetened with Splenda), and sometimes add a
tablespoon or two of flax meal (also avaible at TJ's). Flax seed is good
for regularity, among other things.

Kashi also makes meal replacement powder, which has 22g of protein and 8g of
fiber. I'm going to try and get my fiber intake up to the suggested min of
25g per day. I'm sure my colon will thank me...

Some of my recent protein/fiber discoveries at TJ's include:

TJ's Soy Crisps (7 grams protein, 2 g fiber, 14 g carbs)
Skinny Soy Chips (http://www.nspiredfoods.com/skinnysoy.html#products)
TJ's Soytzels (also high in both protein and fiber)

Their honey roasted soy nuts are also pretty high in both.

What kind of pasta is it? What's it made from? Just curious since regular
pasta tends to make me want to eat more and I'd like to try one without the
refined crap to use in the occasional salad or casserole. Whole wheat pasta
is ok, but still not big on nutrition.

A few years ago a dietician recommended Kashi's Go Lean cereal and I though
it tasted like twigs and rocks. Maybe with a little Splenda it would be
more palatable for me, but I don't plan on eating much cereal, except for
oatmeal.

The only Kashi I like is the Crunchy version...the rest are soooo bland for me
as cereal but they are great in adding with yogurt which is what I have been
doing.
