Default Dropped BMI by 2.6%

I'm a little surprised, I didn't think I was doing very well w/ my weight loss
this past week. After my abominable abdominal episode, I was sure my wt not
only didn't drop for the week, it went up.
But, as of today I have dropped my BMI by 2.6%!
And I feel great, I'm back at the Y working out, my tummy muscles have decided
to chill, and my DH is dropping wt. also.
I have decided not to take the karate class this time (I have a little to much
going on right now) but will start in January. However, DD4yo will be taking a
karate class and I will work out while she learns to chop and kick I will
be able to watch her take her class while I'm on the treadmill, so this will
work out well for us.
I'm so glad to be back on track.
Be well,
~Kat

Woo Hoo! WTG Kat! I've been doing home work outs trying to get up the
courage to join a karate class. My dh and ds both go (at different times)
and dh swears I'd reap the benefits (in terms of endurance, stamina,
strengthening, balancing etc) really quickly. Although they say 'go at your
own pace' - I'm afraid I'd try too hard, break out into a cold sweat and get
naseaus. Is this why you've decided to wait 'til January?

No, It's purely a logistics thing. The adult beginner class isn't offered at a
time that would be good for me. It would involve a LOT of extra running around
.... going to the Y, leaving the Y to take girls to a sitter, getting back to
the Y, picking up kids at the sitter, then getting home ... the adult beginner
class isn't over until 9:30 p.m. so we wouldn't be able to be back home until
almost 11. DD has school the next day and it would just be too difficult to
work out right now.
In January DH work schedule will be a little different and he can pick the
girls up from the Y and just leave me there.
I hope you go ... hey .. and breaking out into a cold sweet doesn't have to be
a 'bad' thing!

the only way to drop BMI (body mass index) is to lose weight, or grow
your height!

Do you mean body fat percentage?

Good for you! She'll be fine without her doting mother watching her every
second and you're doing great to find time to fit in your workout! I
always wonder why all the (obese) people sit in the viewing booth watching
their kids do swimming or gymnastics at the Y: why not just go get in YOUR
workout while the kids are busy and you're there?

I am lucky, at my Y I can see the kids in class while I'm on the treadmill.
