Better way to post & reply than from Google?
OK, it seems posting from Google sucks. I made a post via Goggle
before my lunch run. Two hours later I see it via another forum reader that I like but can't post from. There are also responses to my post which I can see there and would LIKE to respond to. But no, here it is almost six hours later, and my original post hasn't even shown up on Google yet. I have no way to reply. Is there a better free-ware way to post to these forums, without such terrible delays? |

Most ISPs have a news server, although a great deal of them don't know how to run one properly, and miss a good percentage of posts. If you're only interested in text groups, I recommend that you create an account with the free German server at http://news.individual.net If you want mostly text groups, with occasional binaries, I highly recommend a Basic account with Newsguy, $40 for a whole year. You can sign up for a 2-day free trial at http://www.newsguy.com/freetrial.htm You can set up either of these with Windows newsreaders such as FreeAgent or Gravity (or Outlook Express or Netscape, although neither is as well featured, not being dedicated news applications). Newsguy also has a web-based reader/poster, but I've never used it. -- jamie ) "There's a seeker born every minute." |
