Default Atkins shakes- Tummy Trouble!!

I don't know about the atkins shakes...they seem to cause stomach upset.
Anyone else got sick from the shakes?

Yes! I just had my first Atkins shake today, made with water, ice, and
a little cream, and I got all crampy. It lasted for about 3 hours but
wasn't bad enough that I was in bed, just very uncomfortable. I'm
wondering if the main ingredient is eggs? I have tummy trouble with
eggs, too.

If I have more than one in a day, or have one several days in a row, I
get that icky feeling, often followed by gas. I mix it from the powder
(not the cans). They are convenient, though, and I use about 1 per week as
a breakfast. The Atkins cappuccino flavor is terrible, the others are OK.
I like all the Keto flavors, esp. banana, and they have only 1
carb/serving, rather than 3-4.

Did you try the ready to drink, or just the mix? I use the RTD and haven't
had any trouble. I never did like the mix.

I thought the Atkins cappuccino tasted terrible too. The others are
better. I tried the carb solutions vanilla and thought that tasted
better than any of the Atkins.

You can also make a nice shake from soft tofu and unsweetened soy milk
plus flavoring syrup. I think these taste best of all.

I use the Atkins mix as part of lunch 2 or 3 days a week. I replace part of the
water with 2 oz. cream and 2 oz. DaVinci syrup. Makes a thick, delicious shake.
I love the chocolate, cappuccino and vanilla but don't care much for the
strawberry. I've tried both the chocolate royale and chocolate delight premixed
shakes but still prefer the mix.

No tummy problems with canned or mix.

It seems like you're talking about the mix rather than the canned, ready
to drink, shakes. If so, I think there may be a pattern here. I have no
problems with the canned shakes, in fact I have them when I have an upset
stomach as I find them soothing to my stomach. The atkins shake mix, on
the other hand, the first time I had it I felt horrible. Strangely, I use
other shake mixes without any problems.

I don't know whats in the shake mix, but it's not something I digest well.

Could the problem be the Splenda? I have never had a digestive problem
until I tried the Bordens LowCarb ice cream. I experienced minor stomach
distress and thought nothing of it until last week. I made a cheese cake
which contained a cup of Splenda. A MISTAKE, I was SICK. Since then, no
splend and no digestive problems. It could have been something else, but the
splenda was the only new item in my diet.

Not for me. I use splenda fairly regularly w/o problems. It does sound
like you might be sensitive to it, though.
