Default New find: Low carb whipped cream in a squirt can

I don't know how long it's been out, but I finally found LC whipped
cream in a squirt can. Made by Land o Lakes, using sucralose. I've
been thinking for years that someone should make one of these, but
could never find one. Quite incredible that they weren't around a year
or more ago at the height of LC popularity. Wegman's here in NJ
carries it.

Most of the cans have low carb couns, anyway. I do appreciate the
sucralose, though.

Yeah, for one microgram. Load it up on top of some berries and it's
not doable anymore. I'd like to see whipped cream in a can with no
sweeteners at all.

That's easy! :-)

I've made my own "canned" whipped cream using splenda in a gas cream
whipper. Pour in the cream, add the sweetner, close it up and shake it a
bit, then slap in a gas cartrige.

Instant low carb whipped cream in a can, and adding sweetner is optional:

Cheers!

Oddly, the uncanned kind of whipped cream (aka the old way) is IMHO
better, and in my wife's opinion, almost as good. And it's not hard to
make (see any of the three episodes of "Low Carb and Lovin' It" with
George Stella where he or his wife makes it). If you make it yourself,
you can even make it without any sweetener, other than the sugar that's
naturally in the cream. Very very good on the berries and such, though
lacking the fun of doing shooters directly out of the can.

If you need the pattern that the spray nozzle gives you, load up the
pastry bag. I got one for five bucks and the Viking store, and I
suspect that Williams of Sonoma and Sur la Table' sell them for similar
prices. I use mine mostly for making compound butter pyramids (with
silicone baking tray that my wife also uses to make ganache pyramids).

One last plus for making your own. If you want something special, like
cappuchino whipped cream (great on top of SF chocolate gelatin dessert,
house recipe), it's all good.

My wife does miss the shooters though.

Hollywood, who shouldn't dump the "whipped cream shooter" love only on
his wife.

I saw that once in a store then never again. I bought
it when I saw it. My best guess was it was a test
market situation and not enough people immitated me
buying them.

Try making your own. Fresh made whipped cream with
no sweeteners at all is wondefull. Use half the
splenda that's suggested and that's wonderfull too.
Be cautioned - Go fresh and you'll be spoiled from
using the can. It's that much better IMO.

So, Max, who else would you dump whipped cream "shooter" on?
