Cooking with wine
I'm trying to figure points on a new recipe I found. It calls for 1 c. wine
in the sauce, which will be reduced. Most of the alcohol will burn off. The recipe builder feature in the WW Online does not account for this. It figures the full calories in the wine. Any ideas how I should count it? -- Wendy http://griffinsflight.com/Quilting/quilt1.htm de-fang email address to reply |

Cooking with wine
Hi Wendy,
I, too, love to cook with wine and sometimes I even add some to the food ! Maybe you should count it as a regular glass of wine as the grape juice and sugars are still there. What are you making? Cooking with wine
It turned out to be not too bad with the wine - 7 pts. It's a recipe from
Food Network's 30-Minute Meals with Rachel Ray (I love that show!) called Pasta with Pumpkin and Sausage. I'm substituting Boca (vegetarian) Italian sausage for the other kind, and I reduced the amount of pasta called for to a more reasonable amount - 1/2 pound for 4 people as opposed to 1 pound. That's still more pasta than I usually eat (now), but for point value, I used that amount. If it turns out well, I'll post the recipe. -- Wendy http://griffinsflight.com/Quilting/quilt1.htm de-fang email address to reply "Julie" wrote in message news:4z7Cb.669786$9l5.482717@pd7tw2no...
