WOW! "Pecan delights" (2 pieces): 130 calories, total carbs, 16 grams.
NET EFFECTIVE CARBS = 2.4 G.

The taste and mouth-feel are perfect. It's a true candy.

Hey! There were coupons for those recently in Better Homes & Gardens. Can't
wait to try them!

I've had a couple of those, and they are very good. I have to
ration them though.

Yeah, Russel Stover is well known to diabetic sufferers, having made
sugar-free candies for years. They definitely have it down. Their
candies are amazingly good.

I've tried those and liked them too.
My biggest downfall... sweets of any type are my undoing. Can't stop
myself at just one.
Great idea to have handy at Xmas though I think.

When I meter-tested the Russell Stover sugar free candies against the same
dose of regular Russell Stover candies, I saw a blood sugar rise almost as
high as that of the regular candies. It just took another hour or so to hit
my blood stream.

They contain maltitol which some lab studies have shown to raise blood sugar
almost as high as regular sugar when added to chocolates. (Details on my web
page http://www.geocities.com/jenny_the_bean/products.htm)

Bottom line: if your weight loss stops after you add these to your diet, or
if you start finding yourself hunger or getting back to binging behavior,
these candies would be the first item to finger as the culprit.

They are great but be VERY careful. Five women in my office including
me are on low carb and we all had the same experience...eat more than
one or two and the gas pains (and smell!) are absolutely horrible.
The rumbling and gurgling can be heard clear across the room. We
found this to be true with all of the different flavors of Russell
Stover low-carb candies!!

In more ways than one! If you eat too many of them, and you have problems
with sugar alcohols (as I do), you'll be in severe pain. The good thing is
that you'll catch up to your bathroom reading!
