Hey, peaches are a pretty LC choice as fruits go. You are allowed fresh
peach slices from day one of the Protein Power plan.

Debbie

Yes, they are also allowed in phase two of South Beach. It was
just a big step for me....

Geez! What a sin. So you dared to eat a peach -- at least you didn't part
your hair behind, or wear white flannel trousers, or walk upon the beach --
now that would have been bad!

Hehe. Yes, my thoughts struck me as being sort-of humorous, which
is why I posted them!

That is the first big piece of fruit I have had since I started

"Do I dare to eat a peach?" I've been eating peaches all summer.

Ah well, you have been LCing longer than I have been, so you have
probably added more carbs back into your diet. I haven't eaten
anything that is overtly carby since I started, though a peach is
nothing compared to pasta, rice, bread, etc.

I'm also not doing Atkins. I'm a diabetic and "eat to my meter." I
don't count carbs (that way leads to obsession for me, plus I don't need
to), just avoid carby foods, except I can eat a little if I'm about to
get some exercise. Like I had thin crust pizza for lunch today (minus
the edge) because I was going to be spending the next couple of hours
walking around stores.

I suppose you might consider me lucky, but if I didn't have diabetes, I
wouldn't be low-carbing at all atall.

Say three Hail Marys and drink some water.

Jake.

Otherwise for lunch I tried making a pizza-type thing using a
portobello mushroom as a crust. (I either read about that here or
on some LC list.) That was decent, but not as good as the "pizza"
made with the nuked cheese instead of the crust. The mushroom
made the overall flavor less pronounced.

After reading the title, and then the post, is it any wonder why people
believe what they do about this way of eating?

I think youre my new hero. To be able to get a case of the crazies
and limit it to a peach. Last time I went off I didn't stop till I
had killed at least four brownies.

I don't know if I consider you lucky. I also don't know what
final form my LCing will take. Since I am trying to lose weight
(~20 more lbs), I have a while to contemplate that. I DO know I
can't go back to wantonly gobbling carbs though. It also would be
nice if I could eat most fruits and veggies.
