What about fibre in low carb diets? Psyllium husk?
I get the lion's share of my fiber from veggies (and some fruits).
Green leafies have been mentions, but specifically kales (as mentioned often by Dr. A.) and collards have a good amount of fiber, okra (don't know how available it is in the UK, though) is a good source of soluble fiber. But, in addition, I am finding (and this is from someone who has had some severe digestive track issues) that putting good healthy fats back into my diet also help with the functioning of the GI track (and perhaps push the need for fiber down a little). |
