Default ATTN Senior WW Dieters

I know that people said that years ago WW had alot of fish on it and
people would develop an allergy to fish as a result of it.
Is this true?
How long did it take from beginning WW to actual allergy to appear?

Hehehe now that's funny !

I grew up on a island, in my grandpa's fishing boat and ate LOTS of fish in
my life..

It's like asking if eating too many fruits is gonna make you allergic to
fruits.. can I get allergic to water ? O-O

Sounds like nonsense to me. I eat lots of fish and always have -- no
problem. There are many countries where fish is the main protein in
most people's diets. Obviously they're not all allergic to it.

But back then, Flounder and Sardines were the main "Fish" in peoples
diets, perhaps it was the type of fish? I heard this in a WW meeting and
online so Its not a figment!

You can't believe everything you read online, obviously, and I dare
say at a WW meeting either. I've never even heard of such a thing,
myself.

Are there only certain kinds of fish that people are supposed to
develop allergies to over time? What kinds are those?

And I'm not sure what you mean by "back then". There are still many
places where fish is a dietary mainstay, and I'm sure not just founder
and sardines.

Nonsense. I was on WW in 1968 and had many kinds of fish. It was a
wonderful and successful diet, I regained because I did not practice
maintenance.

I was a WW member in 1969, when it first came to the UK. You had to
eat fish 5 times a week, but many people do that now anyway and I
don't see how this would cause an allergy. I don't remember sardines
being one of the permitted fish, and I don't recall that they canned
them in brine in those days either, just oil. Also I've never eaten
flounder in my life, but perhaps things were different in the US. I
think part of this story is an urban myth.
