Default For SAM MARKS to read: Staying on Induction

"Sam Marks" wrote in messages

OK if your losing 20 pounds a month, you must be staying on induction,
GOOD FOR YOU! Finally someone who understand how to do Atkins correctly!

Sam, you haven't even been doing Atkins for a month. I'd like to hear from
you after your 3rd month.

5lbs a month on atkins??? That is really low, you could easily be

trippling
that figure.

From where are you getting your bogus goals? I think you will find that
most people here are pleased with a consistent 5lbs. a month weight loss.
Take a look at the monthly weight loss challenge that goes on here.
The only people who consistently lose more than 5lbs a month are people who
have a LOT of weight to lose.
Again, I would like to hear from you after your 3rd month (whether you stay
on induction or not) and see if you're losing 20 lbs a month.

The quote below is from Chapter 10 (Time to review your 14-day results) in
ANDR
Heading is "Success and Long-Term Satisfaction"
Atkins New Diet Revolution ("revised & updated" is in the corner of it)
Paperback, copyright 1999.

"The Atkins low-carbohydrate diet has many levels, and is made for many
different types of people. The high-fat, deep-ketosis form of it that
you've just experienced is not THE diet but an extreme variation of it. And
the fact is that most of the time spend on the Atkins diet is not spent on
this level. This first level, the INDUCTION level, is to be used whenever
ketosis/lipolysis must be induced, but I do not advise staying on this level
for any length of time, unless it is the only level that works"

That is a word-for-word quote (I made allcaps the words he had italicized)

In the rest of the section he explains why. Perhaps you should go read it.

Sweetheart let me explain a few things for you.

First of all, I know plenty of people who have been on induction for MONTHS,
and had no problems.

The goals are not bogus, I have seen it first hand! 20 pounds a month is
quite possible if you stay on induction. If you have 20 pounds to lose,
then no, that wouldn't benefit you. But for people who are trying to lose
100 pounds or more, that is exactly where you should stay! Again, the book
says you can stay on it for 6 months or longer (you only decide to quote one
part of the book but not all the parts where it talks about induction, and
as I said before, call up the Atkins Center, they will tell you the same
thing!

I have read the book, sorry to burst your bubble but I have it right here
with me. There is no such thing as bogus goals, I have seen 5 friends of
mine drop 100 pounds since March 1 of this year, please dont try to tell me
any different because you don't know what your talking about, ok?

If losing 5lbs a month is acceptable to you, great but for most of us, it's
not! If we can take it off faster, that is what we do. Maybe your old, I'm
young and have plenty of young years left before I get old. I'm not trying
to take forever to do it when I can do it much faster.

As you clearly read the post from that other guy who states he is losing 20
pounds a month, he is one of the smart ones on this board who really know
how to use Induction as the tool that it is. Don't go hating on people who
are losing faster then you are simply because they have more smarts then you
do.

Also your a woman, no matter what you do, it's going to come off of you
slower, blame your parents for that one

Have a good night now.

And btw, I have been doing atkins for 6 months now on induction and have
lost 106 pounds! I just lied when I first posted here a few days ago
because I was trying to start drama up with someone. So yes, I can clearly
say staying on induction for months is possible, it's not hard, not at all.

Bye now

Taken everything you've posted so far, including this statement that you
lied before, I now believe you haven't even tried Atkins at all. Since you
lied once already, there's no reason to believe anything you say now.
