I have unsuccessfully been trying to lose weight for a few years
now; 25 to 30 pounds, to be exact. Below is what I have been
eating for the last several days. What do you think about the way
I eat? Thanks for your help. Day 1: 2 Fried Eggs 3 Coffees 1 Cheese
burger and French Fries 1 Coffee 2 Chocolate Donuts 1 Small Peace
of Chocolate 3 Pieces of Pizza 2 Bowels of cereal right before I go
to bed.

Day 2: 3 Bowls of Life Cereal before Bed 4 Small hot dog snacks 1
Pop corn 2 Ice creams 5 Cookies 1 Big bowl of Macaroni 1 Clondike
bar

I know I have a problem of eating. I want to know how to get this
under control. A lot of it is emotional eating. I want to stop
smoking, but I fear gainging weight. And since I eat for emotional
reasons I don't know how I will be able to eat right after I give
up the smokes. How can I fix my problem? Thanks

It's not that you're eating too much, it's that you're eating the wrong
things, and some of them at the wrong time of day. First, try cutting
back on your fats. You are living on junk. Up your lean protein
levels; nice fishes, lean red meats, and members of the domesticated
fowl population , instead of hotdog snacks and pizza. Cereal is for
breakfast, and one cup is enough if you have it with some yogurt or
grapefruit. Pizza is OK on occasion, but use it as a reward for
yourself and your arteries will bless you. Try omelets or poached eggs
instead of fried ones; try limiting fried eggs to maybe twice a month.
And have a bit of toast or a nice lean pork chop or ham cutlet with
them! Try not to eat anything heavy before bedtime. If you feel
hungry, it may be your body being thirsty and your brain misreading the
signal. Try drinking some nice sparkling spring water or a cup of tea
with honey instead of munching so much cereal at bedtime. I personally
try not to eat anything fatty or starchy at all after 9 or 10 at night.

Try, also, having regular meals. Breakfast, a light lunch, and a good
dinner. Your body works better that way. Of course, slip in some
snacks between meals, but try to have something good for you instead of
something sugary/fatty/starchy. Veggies or fruit will stay with you
longer than the stuff that is in donuts and the like, trust me.

Hope this helps!
