Default Lurker - need to vent

Ok, so I've been doing WW for 6 months now. I've lost a total of 20
lbs. Most of that has been in the last 2 months. I've really gotten
on board and started making good decisions. In March I bought an
inexpensive elliptical from KMart. Today, it broke. A metal brace
thingy cracked. I feel so devestated. I have bad knees so the
elliptical is great not to mention I can do it at home while the kids
run around. I had to beg and plead to get my husband to agree to buy
it. I wanted a nice one that was $450 from sports authority but
settled on this one b/c it was on sale for $200. I know there is still
a lot I can do but I'm just so poed. I'm checking with the company now
to see if they will repair/replace it. Money is so tight right now
that we won't be able to buy another one if they won't help us. It's
just hard when you feel like you are finally in control and then you
realize Murphy is alive and well. Thought about ordering a pizza but
talked myself out of it. Instead I'm making cup cakes (devil's food
cake mix and 12 oz of Diet Coke Black Cherry Vanilla, have you heard of
this recipe?). The batter taste pretty good :-) so I'll have to let
you know how the cupcakes turn out. Thanks for letting me vent. Gonna
have to pull out my workout video's now.

Hi, Sunshine, It's too bad about the elliptical. You might try getting in
touch with the company. You
made a good decision not to order pizza. The workout video is also an
excellent idea.

Check the sales in your local paper. We bought our second Nordic Track
very inexpensively through an ad and we sold a treadmill the same way.
Lots of people buy sports equipment they never use and they are looking
to get rid of it.

Not sure if they have one in your town or not, but there is a place called
"Play It Again Sports" they take in sports equipment and resell it on a
consignment basis. I sold a set of old golf clubs that way and they have a
bunch of exercise equipment that people turn in so that it is not collecting
dust at their homes. If you have one of those near you, try it, you might
find a good piece of equipment for a very reasonable price.

Thanks everyone for letting me vent! If the company doesn't help then
I'm going to check the ads and Play It Again Sports.

Sunshine

P.S. - Cupcakes turned out really good. They stick to the liner a bit
but for 2 points I can handle it. Really can't taste the diet black
cherry vanilla though.
