Did anyone catch the season premier of King Of Queens last night?

Very funny show. But also very true.

Doug - the husband of the show - lost about 40lbs over the break, so
the show revolved aroudn his weight loss. People were complimenting
him left and right. Lost his weight on low carb diets

Carrie - the wife of the show, a little thing, very fit, got jealous.
At one point makes him a plate staked w/ about 8 pancakes and a jug of
syrup. She wanted to sabatoge his diet because she was jealous.

It was 1 hr long, and filled with all kinds of diet and jealousy
comedy.

Now, shall we write into the show and tell them they need to do a show
about Doug being sick and tired of people asking him if he's "happier"
and how did he do it, and all the other stupid questions that we deal
with?

I don't watch sitcoms, (except old Seinfeld reruns), but I've realized that
a lot of those types of shows have big fat, ugly men and pretty little
underweight women. How unreal can ya get? I guess it's not ok to be a normal
woman on tv.

Well - that part is "hollywood"... But the point of this show this
week was about weight loss, feeling good, and then the other person in
the relationship trying to sabatoge...

Unreal? Seriously? I see this everyday. The wedding I was just at
featured a stunningly lovely vibrant gorgeous healthy 23 year old bride
and an overweight red-faced 38 year old groom on his third marriage.

I guess it's not ok to be a normal woman on tv.

Well, no, it's not. In fact, if you're an overweight woman on TV is
actually makes the news. Think of "Mimi" on the Drew Carey show or
Carolyn Manheim. It's like a HUGE deal!

I just realized that all people on TV have their teeth bleached. I'd
never noticed it before. I recently added teeth bleaching to my beauty
regimen as a result of this newfound awareness.

Start looking for signs of Botox. When I was first injected, it really
became apparent how many actors andTV news hosts used Botox!

I always wonder how safe those OTC bleeching products really are. I
don't bleach, I don't have to, my teeth are pretty white to begin
with. But also, because I was born w/ 2 teeth missing and have a
bridge of porcelien, I can't bleach or it would be very apparent I've
got the bridge because the porceline won't bleach.

Wow, that's interesting: one of my kids is missing a bicuspid: just isn't
going to come in. We're trying to keep the baby tooth as long as
possible. Is that your situation? I'd never even heard of this until the
orthodontist showed me the x-ray of the teeth coming in: tooth tooth tooth
no-tooth. Oops!

Anyway, I've got a crown on a front tooth covering a chip and the
bleaching hasn't been seriously deforming enough to make the crown appear,
so I posit that either the bleach works a bit on the crown, too, or that
the difference isn't startling enough to make it show up.

I feel like it's been good for my gums: not only do I do a good job of
brushing and flossing before I put on the bleach, but the bleach is a
peroxide solution and it sort of fizzes in the gum line and I figure it's
killing off bacteria. :-)

Wendy, smiling brightly

Yup - that's pretty much what happened with me. Although they knew
about it when I was 4 yrs old. I had ear and nose problems. (had
tubes in the ears and constant nose bleed issues so they took my
adnoids out) and in the prep for the surgery they did xrays and found
that hey, look, there's no teeth forming up there. So, they never
came in. It took 4 yrs of braces to pull the other teeth appart in
order to have the bridge made.

The dentist that did the work said that if I were a boy, they'd use
the braces to pull all teeth forward and just grind down the canine
teeth to make them look like a bicuspid. But in girls, its more
important to have the pretty smile so they wanted to leave the canine
(or whatever their technical name is) and then put the bridge in.
Its been in for 17yrs now without a problem at all. Although my
current dentist wants to redo the bridge and put in a new one w/ the
porceline backing instead of the metal backing I have now.

Always a good habit to get into. I love hearing those interviews of
older people and when asked, what's one thing you'd like to tell the
younger generations, the answer is "Floss".
