Do we forget about stress and sleep while on a diet?
I have watched my weight all of my life, exercised regularly -all the
right stuff but nothing prepared me for the stress I went through (I am talking a lot of stress) and the pounds just piled up no matter how hard I hit the gym and how many salads I ate. Then I got involved in research related to stress and heart disease and I realized that diet and exercise alone could not help me if I did not deal with the stress (we all have tons of stress but what matters is how we deal with it). And that was it. I got it! I lost the extra 20 lb in few months without changing my routine diet and exercise. And I started my own site sharing what I learned and continue to learn about weight gain. You can ask me questions on my site: http://www.stress-fat-heart-solutions-for-boomers.com/ Now I know: calories count, physical activity keeps us in shape and fights stress, good quality sleep reduces stress and weight and finding a stress reducing technique that works for you may be a life saver. |
