Weekend Woes for Dieting

As the 5:00 whistle has rung here on the East Coast and the Days of
Winter are hopefully turning warmer into Spring, another weekend
greets us. Is this weekend going to be the same as the past? Certainly
not! For many of us the weekend offers us time to take a break, relax,
or make up for lost time. Whatever it ha in store for you - big plans
or small, it can sometimes be the diet breaker that you regret come
Monday morning. Dieting is not only a science of what to eat, and
balancing it with proper exercise, but it is a discipline and an
emotional road.

This weekend as you set out on your diet remember that you are the
person who is in control of your diet. If you decide to eat too much,
then guess what? You ate too much. Did you eat the wrong things? Well,
maybe you did and maybe you didn't.

Give your scale a break this weekend and live life with your diet in
mind and make the best choices for yourself. Don't scold yourself for
going astray, get back on course. If you are having a hard time tell
someone that you are having a hard time. They may or may not
understand, but try to get it out to someone who does understand.

The feelings of want will pass. If you want it now, wait a few
minutes. You may not want it as much after some time has passed.
Remember, you cannot do this overnight. It took some time to gain
weight; it will take more time to loose it. But it will happen!

Now even though this has been mostly dime store psychology it tends to
hold true for most of us. So get in gear up and say “no thanks” to
whatever they may offer. Don't be shy about it; no one else really
cares after it is all over whether you had that extra piece of
whatever it may be.

Let us know how it turned out!
