Default scale is got me MAD!!!!

This damn scale, I got on this morning what a mistake. I can't figure
how this thing could change so much overnight. Up one lb, actually I
am up 4 lbs in the last 2 months, so I am going to take control I mean
strict control. Now I have been cranking with the weights, I mean
heavy, and that trainer is kicking my butt, but still 4 lbs, I am
THROWING OUT THE DAMN PEANUT BUTTER RIGHT NOW!!!!!! This stuff is my
downfall, I love it and can't stop at 1 teaspoon , its 1/4 of the jar
each time, OUT OUT OUT!!! Now I am going to tackle these 4 lbs, even
though no one can tell, I can tell!!!! I see the scale number and I
know its up. 132 instead of 128.

The Chantix I have been on one week, I have cut down a lot, instead of
30 butts a day its now in half. However to say I just don't feel like
smoking and this is the miracle pill would be lying. Next week I start
on the blue which is a higher dose of this medicine, maybe , just maybe
thats the miracle.

I love my new job. I have found a home at this place. This is damn
good, and guess what I can fit the gym in NO problem hours are perfect
for being able to hit the damn weights for and hour and after work the
cardio !! I got it all!

How are you all doing??? I am here to listen. Thanks Marilyn

Well, the good news it is that it's likely that some part of that 4 lbs is
muscle! That's the advantage of having a good lifting program going while
you are eating too much!

Yeah, 1/4 jar of PB each time is a bit much, unless you are trying to gain
muscle mass. 4 lbs in 2 months would be a good number, too.

Give it time to do it's thing. You've cut down, so that's something.

Hi Marilyn,

Are you measuring your progress in ways other than the scale. The scale
is a harsh mistress, especially with the lifting. Remember, weight is a
number that is really only one representation of your goals (I hope).
Maybe you are progressing in a lot of other ways (body fat, toning,
shape, strength, health, etc) and it's just not working on the scale.

Sounds like everything else is going right for you, so I wouldn't sweat
the scale that much. Especially with the smoking cessation going
(sounds like it's going well, or on the path to that).

Definitely cut the PB down. If you can't do it reasonably (1/4 jar is
not reasonable, and you know it), then maybe not having it at all is a
better solution. Your life, your choices.

But congrats on getting as far as you have, getting the new job, being
able to work out, quiting smoking, etc. etc. etc.

you know both poster, I talked with the damn trainer who thinks I am
obsessed with the numbers, and hates that about me but she told me to
go get a fabric tape measure, and thats going to be the new means to
measure. She told me her weight, and she is so damn tiny but weighs so
damn much!! She actually would be considered fat for her weight desite
she is solid and compact as hell!! So, I am throwing out the scale (im
gonna try) and definately that PB!!!! I can't have it here anymore not
now. Thanks

Your trainer should do a caliper BF% on you, in fact she
should've done a test before you started. That's the only way to
see if your gaining or losing LBM.

I usually test before training clients and then periodically after.
