Cherries?
My cherry tree is loaded with cherries this year. I have given
away many bags of them but hate to see the rest go to waste. Any ideas for recipes suitable for maintenance? Andrea Andrea |

Cherries?
Cherries are 1.09g of carbs each with 0.1g of fiber.
Depending on your carb level at this point... eat some. 10 would be: 10.9g - 1g fiber or 9.9g. Whatever recipes you use, they're still going to be the same carb count. I'm not a drinker, and I still love rum-soaked cherries. I'll bet you could get some great ideas on Google. Sorry that I no longer have a recipe for this, but I remember that I got it from a website, not Usenet. Rum Pot: In a covered jar fill it with berries when they come into season, top off with rum and seal. Then as each fruit comes into season throw more fruit on top and cover with more rum. Keep this up until fall fruits are done. Then let sit until Yule (Christmass for you Christians) start eating at main feast. Some people have been known to top off a rum pot with sugar every time they add fruit, but I never have. If all you want is cherries, just don't add any other fruits. Strawberries are beginning to come into season here. Regards, Gunn |

How many passes through the still are you doing? I've made a nice brandy using mead and running it through a still 1 pass. Regards, Gunn |

I don't make my own! Let's just say I have a friend who has a friend... I have no idea whether it's a "traditional mash" or something else? I just know that this particular "label" doesn't burn my stomach, is smooth going down, and burns blue til the glass is empty (if you want to waste it by setting it on fire!). g ~ ~ ~ ~ Sh0rtcircuit (Deb) Clean out the junk. Cherries?

announced in front of God and everybody: Rum Pot: In a covered jar fill it with berries when they come into season, top off with rum and seal. Every year when cherries are everywhere and affordable, I put up several pounds in Mason jars, with Captain Morgan's rum. Anywhere from a couple of weeks to a couple of months later ... DAMN those are good cherries. They make fine Christmas gifts, too. Dawn |
