Looking forward to responses. Thanking you Linda I get my 2 mile walk every school day by walking up to school and back to collect my son. Could you do this? Walking TOO school with the little one in the buggy would give you a brisk bit of exercise, walking back at a slower pace with the kids would still be better than not walking at all, and you'd be amazed at how soon THEY get fitter and walk faster! An exercise bike would help if this is impossible, but remember the stairs: if you gallop up and down the stairs at home for the same amount of time, it's cheaper than buying a bike, and still good exercise! I know nothing of Pilates, but hear it can be good for those who take to it. Swimming is also excellent all body exercise, with built in stomach toning at no extra cost! AKK! The school holidays interrupt my exercise routine! Today is a nice day, so we might go up to the village by the scenic route - through the orchards full of spring blossom! - and back via the road. I need to call in to the shop for a couple of leeks for tonight's dinner: WW recipe chunky Chicken Chowder. -- Kate XXXXXX Lady Catherine, Wardrobe Mistress of the Chocolate Buttons http://www.diceyhome.free-online.co.uk Click on Kate's Pages and explore! |

exercise for busy mum
I am going to the gym for 30 minutes a day - no more, even if I feel good.
At least now, in the beginning, I want to avoid burnout, which is typical for me. The half hour regimen has been good so far. I'm not clock watching. It's over before I know it. And I always finish. I do the cardio of my choice (usually the elliptical trainer). |

You do have some challenges in getting some exercise!
Do you have a neighbor who would also like some exercise time? Maybe you could each do a child care exchange. Is there a fitness center or exercise class available to you? Sometimes these places offer childcare as well. Do your children swim? Maybe you could all go to the pool together so you could swim laps. Is your husband interested in supporting your weight loss and exercise plans? Maybe he could re-arrange his work schedule, or bring some of it home to do while you are out and/or after the children go to bed. Good luck in figuring this out! Mary |

exercise for busy mum
I am no expert but have recently started on the treadmill. I found that I
can commit to thirty minutes a day with little time stress. I think if I had a child still at home I would do my exercises while they took a nap, good luck, Lee, the exercise challenged joe wrote in message om...
