I don't think it will work if you don't count calories same as with
any diet. I know a lot of people that say it works for them, but I eat
almost the opposite of an Atkins diet, and am very thin and healthy
(far as I know). I eat no meat whatsoever, almost no fat, no
cholesterol and mostly vegetables and grain like oatmeal, farina,
grits, oats and bread, with a few egg whites thrown in for added
protein. I do count calories very closely though. I'm sure if you
count your calories well after determining how many you can consume,
you will lose wt. on the Atkins diet. Often market people try and sell
their diets by claiming outright or tacitly that you can eat whatever
you want as long as you do X, Y and Z, which is often something rather
farfetched. That never works, and if you count calories, any diet
works. dkw

If you follow the directions, of course it works.

What you describe is not even close to what Atkins is. If you want to
discuss
Atkins you need to actually try it first. Read the book, follow the
directions in
it. Then come back qualified to discuss the topic.

If you examine the before-and-after pictures posted by people claiming
to be on Atkins the reality is different. In many cases, you can
hardly tell which is the before and which is the after. Yet the person
in those pictures still claims that it works. So without graphic
evidence, verbal claims should be regarded with skepticism. In other
cases, the transition is from very fat to fat, or from fat to pudgy.
Another striking thing is that, qualitatively speaking, the subjects
often look a lot worse, in spite of being somewhat thinner. It's hard
to characterize exactly. They look at least ten years older, sad and
droopy. Often, their fat pictures show a healthy glow and energy. You
see more smiles in the before pictures.

Who are you kidding? Atkins was good for about 4-5 years of
reversed aging when I started. When I started vs a year later
there was a lot less gray in my hair in addition to the 35-40
pounds lost plus all of the symptoms gone like chronic
indigestion, coughing and so on.

The original post looks awfully familiar. Me suspects that this is
one of the same old spammer, trap lines, we have seen pop up from time
to time. Probably some troll working for a company that makes refined
grain products.
