Bored....?
speaking of corsets, I know this is OT but hey... does anybody know where I
can get the old fashioned, lace it up and choke corset? Lee Kate XXXXXX wrote in message ... Yaaaawnnnn... ZZZzzzZZZzzzZZZzzz... I don't usually get time to be bored. Last week was slightly busier than usual in that I: Sewed several customer garments... Shifted my own weight in books from the upstairs landing to the conservatory! Cleared the hall... Tidied up the sewing room (a two day task!), and moved the furniture round... Set up the double bed for guests. Moved 15 of my 20 sewing machines... Moved the treadle into the sewing room out of the way after dismantling the bed... Set up sewing room for sewing: finished two customer dresses. Put a ton of stuff in the loft. Cooked for guests! Went to the Sweeps festival. Bought £100 worth of music CD's... Listened to hours of gorgeous music! Chose wallpaper! Made gallons of tea and coffee for the decorators! Dispensed yards of good sewing advice! Had fun exploring several costume and corset-making supplies sites. Visited the pain management clinic Got a tooth repaired. Entertained the dog that was visiting... Went to the pub for lunch twice! And that's all I can remember! I was too busy to note most of it down! Most People Every Single Day: Get into their Boring car Er... No: Listen to their Boring radio Radio is on Classic FM, but this last week I've also listened to: la Zog (North Italian renaissance music group) The Strawbs Beethoven Queen The Albion Band Warren Zevon Katherine Tikel Pentagle Monteverdi Music from the court of Eleanore of Aquitaine Jethro Tull Christmas music Endure their Boring commute I commute from the bed to the sewing room via the bathroom and a cup of tea! Max time allowed: 3 minutes! To their Boring job I sew wedding dresses and historic costumes, posh frocks for Red Carpet Events and summer dresses, corsets and other fascinating stuff. Not a boring job at all! With Boring co-workers I work alone, but the customers are fun when they are here for fittings! Go to a boring lunch I cook fresh food every day and concoct interesting and exotic salads and soups... At a boring restaurant 14th C pub one day, 18C smuggler's inn another... Hardly a boring restaurant! And the food was good! Get back into their Boring car Nope... See above. Listen to their Boring radio Classic FM again, wittering on about the Classic Brits at the Royal Albert Hall. Wish I could go: it's a great evening out! During their Boring commute to All of 15 feet: not worth getting the car out for that! Their boring house to I like my house! It's full of interesting books, fascinating historic clothing patterns, exotic fabric... And decorators this week, redoing the hall and stairs! Watch boring TV programs until they A new Midsommer Murder last night... Monday I watched New tricks with my son. Saturday it was Dr Whoo... Not had the tell on any other times. Too much else to do! Set their boring clock radio No... Mine sets itself automagically! And go to their Boring bed. That I grant you! Hubby is away on business, and a book ain't quite the same... REPEAT... Did I say these people aren't busy...no busier than ever...but they are dying for you to come rescue them from their Boring life. People are dying for something to be passionate about. Let me tell you... Going on a cruise in the Caribbean is not Boring. Yaaaawn... Can I climb Mont Blanc instead? Swimming with the stingrays in the Grand Cayman Islands is not Boring. I'd rather dive a wreak in the Med... Going down the Olympic bobsled course in Park City, Utah, is not Boring. Yawn... ZZZzzzZZZzzz I think I'll buy a new sewing machine or two instead. Flying over the valley in a hot air balloon is not Boring. I'd prefer over Grand Canyon or Ayers Rock... Giving out new bicycles to needy children over Christmas is not Boring. Why wait until Christmas? Flying to Maui for a free vacation is not Boring. Yaaaaawn... Can I go to Norway and explore ancient churches, or to the Loire on a castle hunt again instead? Having your parents spend a month in Florida during the winter with a credit card to get whatever they want is not Boring. My mum would be bored to screaming point! Can I send her to Vienna to the opera instead? Helping your friend's Mom and Dad build a business so they can retire without stress is not Boring. They ARE retired - and still teach ME money management! We cure Boredom. Anyone with any intelligence doesn't need to be bored. They can always think interesting thoughts without recourse to doing expensive stuff. It's that simple and it's that important. If your mission is to teach other people how to open up their own business in over 43 countries for a little over $1,000...and in doing so... cure Boredom... Nope: I'd rather teach people to be interesting! Go cure the world of Boredom. It's a very interesting place. If you are bored with it, you must have hidden shallows. Please take your boring spam elsewhere. -- Kate XXXXXX R.C.T.Q Madame Chef des Trolls Lady Catherine, Wardrobe Mistress of the Chocolate Buttons http://www.katedicey.co.uk Click on Kate's Pages and explore! |

Hardly surprising: I'm not running up and down the stairs as much this week, what with the hall, stairwell and landing being full of ladders, rolls of paper, buckets of paste, and the odd radiator (off the wall temporarily!) and a floating population of decorators and plumbers! Also TOM and this last weekend: http://www.bbc.co.uk/kent/content/im...allery.shtml?1 where we also got to listen to this bunch of musical magicians: http://www.lazag.it/framedoppengl.htm and drink local brews such as this: http://www.nelsonbrewingcompany.co.u...y_site_003.htm (My personal favourite being Nelson's Blood). Hang on, I'll dig out a few sites for you. They are best custom made, and while this is not a cheap option, it will mean that it fits and is therefore comfortable! To make your own: http://www.sewingchest.co.uk/ http://www.venacavadesign.co.uk/ http://www.corsetmaking.com/ http://www.farthingales.on.ca/ To have one made: http://www.axfords.com/ http://www.corsetmaker.com/ Most of the ones I know much about are makers of specialist corsets for re-enactment: living history stuff! If you want a corset modelled on Queen Elizabeth I's effigy, I can do you one of those! Wanna come over for fittings? -- Kate XXXXXX R.C.T.Q Madame Chef des Trolls Lady Catherine, Wardrobe Mistress of the Chocolate Buttons http://www.katedicey.co.uk Click on Kate's Pages and explore! |

I would love to come for fittings, I want one that is functional, I need the
support for my back and have a bit of a hernia that seems best suited by a corset rather than a girdle, and if I do get one it will have to be made... but all of that combined??? a success in my book, Lee I made the best choices I could that weekend... Friday's dinner was Turkey mince cobbler: reasonably low fat as all made by me! Saturday I had Wheetabix and a banana for breakfast, lunch was chicken curry at the pub where the band played so fabulously... It wasn't a fatty curry, either, so a much better choice than a sausage roll or a pasty! I drank a pint and a half of Nelson's blood during the day, walked a couple of miles, and jigged up and down to the street musicians while watching the morris dancers! I did share a large chunk of chocolate fudge cake with the hubby and friends... Saturday dinner was a WW recipe Coq au Vin - very yummy! I shall make that again - followed by home made fresh fruit salad. Sunday I had toast for breakfast, we had veg soup (0 points!) and fresh rolls, and topped it off with the rest of the fruit salad, and dinner was roast leg of lamb (very lean) and dry roast spuds, Mediterranean roast veg, and a pud made from a failed low fat version of Pashka turned into a baked cheese cake! Higher octane than usual, but not a disaster by any means. I get to put all the books back later today, after the plumbers have reinstated the radiator. The wallpapering is complete, and a very fine job our man Keith did of it too. I think we may be refreshing the paintwork this weekend as the forecast is against much garden work or outside paintwork! -- Kate XXXXXX R.C.T.Q Madame Chef des Trolls Lady Catherine, Wardrobe Mistress of the Chocolate Buttons http://www.katedicey.co.uk Click on Kate's Pages and explore! |
