Default update - still losing

I'm happy to report that I'm still losing pretty regularly - though mostly
it's inches instead of pounds (darn! - LOL). Things here are just so busy
with the end of the year stuff kicking in and a lot of track meets. Plus
now that the golf courses are open I need to hit the gym at different times
so as not to interfere with my game I'm improving consistently already
and the shoulder is doing much better than last year thanks to my gym
workouts.

We're already setting up summer plans. I won't be teaching, but I will be
refereeing two evening volleyball leagues. I still have kickboxing one
night a week and am getting to the point where I need gloves. My
weightlifting is getting heavier even though I'm getting lighter. Most
likely that will even out eventually.

Anyway, I haven't been around the group as much as I'd like to be, but I am
lurking when not responding. Sounds like people in general are doing really
well and that's good to hear. I also noticed the group troll still has not
gotten a life and is spouting his delusional ignorance on a semi-regular
basis. It's so sad that some people are in such desperate need for
attention.

Keep up the great work everyone!

I wish I loved exercise and sports as much as you do. You are so
active.

I've had a gain after my two trips to SF and one to Reno in addition to
two wine tastings but I am so happy to be back on plan. Yesterday was a
very good day and the rest of the week will be too. I look at Mother's
Day as just one meal, brunch with the family. I go to the buffet line
just once and make very careful choices. If I return it is for more
fresh fruit. The other meals we do at home so I have no excuses. I know
I will pay this week but I will be on the way down again.

I've always been active for the most part regardless of my weight. It
wasn't until I hit the 300's that I stopped working out or doing some kind
of sport entirely. I'm just grateful to be able to get back to being very
active though my body has definitely taken a beating by being so heavy all
of my life.

Isn't normal life just a series of ups and downs? The change we've made is
that instead of continuing to gain, we adjust appropriately to accommodate
the celebrations and other occasions in a normal, healthy life. On Friday,
they're bringing an ice cream truck to work for "staff appreciation." I
happen to enjoy ice cream on occasion so I've had fruit and other healthy
stuff for dessert or treats when I wanted it and will enjoy a single serving
of ice cream with my coworkers on Friday. I won't be doing any splurging on
the weekend so things will be all normal again. No harm, no foul.

Well said,...I also am learning after 55 years that food is only a small
part of the celebration....I love to cook and satisfy my love for food in
preparing things for my family...In addition to my loss from close to 300
lbs and at one time 330 to a current 241 I can now workout without
hurting...I no longer live to eat...I now eat to live...I certainly hope it
continues...GG
