Jesus wept. She explained it to you several times and you still
don't get it. It's not rocket science.

Jesus is dead. Please join him.

Hey, you obviously want your arse handed to you on a platter, you just keep
right on going as you were.

Are you feeling better today? Ready to try again?

You've managed to twist
everything I say and then employed selective memory to make it
look like I'm the attacker.

We flip around what you say to look at it from a different
perspective in the hopes that you can follow along and gain some
insight.

No one is attacking you. Well, maybe some of the guys on MFW
but I've dropped that newsgroup from this post and you should
stay out of there unless you like getting called names.

I said that I was having trouble losing pounds.
You said that I wasn't working hard enough.
I pointed out how hard I was working

Time spent working does not equal intensity of work nor does it
signify load. You keep talking about one set of 8-12 reps and
by definition that isn't a heavy load. No one is attacking you
or twisting your words, we're hearing what you say and we still
disagree with you.

You shifted gears to tell me that I should do it your way
because, in spite of training using the techniques of one the
best experts in the country who happens to run the facility I
use, apparently you know better.

Stop there. Hold that thought. Could it possibly be true?
Open your mind up for a moment: is it even VAGUELY possible that
Sarah Jane MIGHT know better?

Then you told me I took too long because I wasn't using free
weights and that I was in "poor condition" and using "light
weights" (150-200lb is apparently light on your planet)

Your muscles can get quite conditioned to the regular load you
put on them. This will effectively halt your progress. Ask
your "Expert" if that isn't true. Look up "strategic
deconditioning" for some interesting perspective on this.

Another great site is: http://www.stumptuous.com/weights.html
and look under "Training" to "the basics of a routine". Read
everything there. Ask questions if you don't understand
something.

I gave you real references, and despite a link that was fairly
easy to figure out, that might lead to actual truth, so you
didn't try.

Actually, your didn't work the first time and crashed my browser
the second time. But the fitness magazine you sent us to was a
joke. You *do* understand the difference between an article
written for management and peer-reviewed science, don't you?
Please?

I placed your "other" ID in a killfile, so you changed ID's,
painted me as the "aggressor" and now you have all your little
clique pals piling on, point out typo's and making big issues
points out of minor points.

Bingo, get some perspective here. She didn't morph to taunt you
(I don't think, and even if she did it's no biggy, since she
WASN'T taunting you). She has other IDs, too that she regularly
uses. She's not particularly evil (well, a little bit) and
she's not stupid (not even a little bit) so she doesn't merit
your killfile unless you absolutely DON'T want your fallacies
challenged.

In which case YOU merit a killfile. (In fact, if you do, please
let me know because I've spent too much time trying to help you
here and I'm happy to stop now if you insist on ignoring it.)

As for piling on the typos, that was a really funny one. I
still don't even know what you were trying to say. Can't you
laugh at yourself even a little?

Have I missed anything here? I look for knowledge from
reputable source, not people who think their crap is perfume.
I posted references, you didn't. You haven't shown yourself to
be reputable or knowledgable. And you chosen to berate me on
every point with nothing to back it up.

I don't even know what to do with this paragraph. I'm trying to
see this from your point of view, but I keep getting blocked by
the part where she ISN'T wrong, she IS a reputable source, she
DID post references, you DIDN'T cite sources (but rather
magazine articles). You need some insight and I have never
known how to convey that.

I'm not interested in continuing this discussion. I'll relearn
and admit when I wrong. (See the peanut butter thread.) But I
have zero tolerance for know-it-alls.

She's not a know-it-all, and neither am I

Yes, she is and so are you.

we just know more
than you do on this issue.

About nutrition, maybe. Not about exercice you don't. BTW, you
were dead wrong about the margarine. I doubt you'll actuallky read
this, since you know everything already, but this is what I've been
using: http://www.smartbalance.com/product.html

Suddenly, when I got to this point, I realized I answered this
last night when I was reading a different group. My apologies
for repeating myself. There are a few low-cal/exercise-too-much
still-fat guys roaming the group at the moment and I think I'm
confusing people in my head. It happens sometimes.

Nah Bingo opinions are like assholes. Everyone has got one.

And you and Bingo seem to be the only ones who are offering your
personal (and scientifically unsupported) opinions that
high-volume routines are the best way to acheive hypertrophy.

Scientifically unsupported? Just what we need, another illiterate.

Bingo, my dear, drop MFW from your posts and you'll be much
happier. You're still arguing with me that you need to run my
info by a nutritionist. You're not ready for MFW.

And no, *I* am not the pone defeationg myself.

Uh, sure, if you say so.

Wow. That was rude.

A Christian would argue that Jesus is not dead, and that wishing
someone to join Him was a sincere, well-intentioned wish. You probably
didn't intend it that way.

MFW: we hate each other, but we hate you more. ($1 to somebody)

Have you happened to notice that you are posting to two separate
groups?
One of them has SUPPORT in the name and is trying to help you.

The other one is MFW and you have been WARNED to stay out of
there. If you keep posting there you're going to have to deal
with the consequences, and I don't see the point in exposing you
to that much ridicule. Seriously. Quit cross-posting to MFW
and you'll be much happier.

Dally

If I did, it's because I replied to a cross-posted original. I don't
initiate cross-posts.

Ooh that was good!! "I know you are but what am I" Go suck more
cocks, turd.

If he sucks more cocks, that would imply that he was gay. Do you
consider that a bad thing? On MFW, we are all Gay As **** (tm). You
may want to restrict your posting to the more macho, heterosexual,
alt.support.diet.

They did tell you MFW was a gay weightlifting group, didn't they?

I hate when that happens.

How does one unintentionally post to a newsgroup? I mean, other than
being a moron who can't read and/or doesn't know how to use one's
newsreader.

My point with this is that your own cites back up Sarah-Jane.
She's not a Ms.Know-It-All, she just happens to be right when
you are wrong.

And the way you can tell is that no one is agreeing with you,
everyone is arguing with you, and you aren't getting the results
you want with the plan you're on.

Do you suppose I'm telling you this to get some sort of midnight
chuckle out of your woes? Or some pathalogical need to argue?
No, it's because you seem to need to hear it and seem ALMOST
ready to hear it.

I wasn't arguing with you, just Ms Knowitall, who what asking
"what research" (in spite of posting none of her own). This is
the guy I've been rferring to, and apparently doing a bad job
job of paraphrasing, so I'll post the link and you can come to
your own conclusion.

As others have mentioned, your link doesn't work. In fact, it
crashed my browser.

Nautilus makes nice machines. They're perfectly fine for
general conditioning. But you want to lose a bunch of fat and
that's where they don't' do the job. I did Nautilus for 8 years
before I changed over to free weights. I just got fatter and
fatter the whole time I did Nautilus. Changing my routine to
free weights was key to shaking up my muscles and improving my
metabolism.

There are many ways to get in shape, but all I'm hearing here
is one narrow view over and over. I came here to get dieting
information, so that's what I'll stick to.

Yes, granted, you're a different person than me. You keep
proclaiming that there are lots of ways to get fit and we don't
all have to choose the same one. I agree with you. But the way
YOU happen to have chosen is NOT WORKING FOR YOU. You're still
fat. That's why it seems indicated to try something different.

Technically, I'm no longer obese, just "overweight." The things
that used to work are working much slower than they used to. ANd
yes I'm under a massive amount of stress which may have something
to do with it.

I more than enough stress right now facing homelessness than to
get sucked into arguing with people who just want to argue (I
don't mean you).

Fair enough. Focus on what you need to focus on. There's time
enough to get around to dealing with this whole food/exercise
thing when you're in a better place. I guess I was just working
with you on it because you're hear posting about it.

Dally
