Oh my, I think I ate more this weekend than I have for the past 2
weeks combined. UGH!

We went up north for a family get together this past weekend. Let me
tell you - my inlaws to be are totally food obsessed. Well, totally
sugary food obsessed. Yes, you have all heard my yearly MIL visit
complaints.

Meat and veggies are an incidental side dish in this family. Next to
nonexistent. Sugary filled sweets are the staple of the diet.
Maple syrup bars, date bars, maply sryup pie, apple pie, berry pie,
sugar, sugar sugar. When I get back into my normal way of eating,
I'm expecting a carb withdrawel headach from hell!!!!!

As of this morning I was up 2.5lbs. Yes, before someone goes off - I
know its not weight/fat. I know that is 8750 extra calories. Well -
let me tell you - if my BMR is 1300, and I didn't get any exercise in
this weekend - it is feasible with how I ate that I did consume at
least an extra 3500+ calories above and beyond my 1300 BMR. :-)

But there is also the carb overload, the sugar overload (no way my
body could use all that sugar) and the fact that I was travelling, and
sitting on a plane for quite a few hours, and l;ack of sleep. I need
a dose of Diva's colon cleansing diet... I'm sure the scale will
return to normal once I can clean and rehydrate and get past the carb
overload.

It was back to bootcamp this morning. Tough to wake at 4:30am after
a 4 day break from workouts. But, I'm back.

Thank goodness I was not alone this weekend!!

I feel for you honey...I was a bad girl too...and more so by choice than you
were...I look at your adventure as family obligation...MIL would not have been
too happy had you not indulged...right?

We went to the Texas State Fair...we go once a year...and just when I started
the SBD, right? Well I had the Texas Taters, Frito Pie and yes a Cinnamon
Roll...bad bad girl...so I started all over again yesterday from day one. My
logic stupid as it was...is the fair comes once a year...once a year I get my
beloved goods...because it's stuff I don't eat the rest of the year...but still
a bad bad girl.

That's not bad logic. That is good logic. Indulging every once in
a while shouldn't be a problem unless you have major issues revolving
around that kind of indulgence. I know some people who post to ASD
can't have any carbs like that at all without setting off major
binges. Similar to alcoholics who can't drink "just one".

But - if you can indulge, then hop right back to your normal woe in a
couple days - then no problemo. The problem comes when you don't get
back to the normal woe. If that happens - then take drastic measures
and realize you can't do that.

Get the idea of being a "bad girl" out of you rhead. You aren't a
bad girl for an indulgence like that, just as I wasn't a bad girl
either.

I feel so much better! I'm glad I'm not the only one. Went camping this
weekend, ate bacon, smores, and other high carb foods that are typical with
camping. I'm up a good 3 or so pounds myself - some of it water, some of it
fat, some of it is "backup" from irregular eating that will resolve itself
shortly...

Frito Pie...sigh...

Get a bowl....put down some Fritos, then a layer of chili (with or without
beans), then add your favorite cheese...some people add onions on top of the
chili.

Great stuff for cool weather...to me it signals the change of seasons in Texas.

Deep down, I know this is true...plus I really, really had been sticking to my
guns...to the extent when BF and I went to our favorite steak restaurant Friday
night...I had NO bread and they substituted a potatoe for a full plate of
steamed broccoli, lightly steamed I should add...it was heavenly.

I really never realized until starting the SBD just what a carb fiend I had
been...all of our meals always contained potatoes, rice or pasta...last night
BF cooked dinner and had it ready when I got home...couldn't eat the scalloped
potatoes but opted for a salad instead with the chicken.

OMG MIL time again? Where do the days go?
I canceled my second scope. I've had the flu for two weeks. Also
canceled the wedding where the gown won't zip. I am tired and don't
feel like jawing it up with a bunch of semi strangers at any weight.

No such thing as a "good 3 pounds" when on the up side, but cheer up,
we will all get back down.

Sometimes I think we may live in the worst food place in the world Lisa,
I went to a high stakes game of Texas Hold'em this weekend where the
hosts of the game set out all these beautiful dishes of chips, dips,
salsas, finger food.. I looked everying over and there wasn't ONE thing
that would fit into my WOE. I managed to have about 5oz of Brisket and I
finally found the deviled eggs.
