mentioned it. I'm continuing to have weird symptoms, that currently I
feel like can be attributed to poor circulation (just a feeling). I
don't know what to do to attack it, but it's certainly been an
unpleasant couple of weeks.

Please RT, if you're continuing to have weird symptoms, maybe you should get
checked out again.
Poor circulation is also a heart problem type symptom.
As far as I'm concerned, if we low carbers are eating properly, we should be
feeling great (and I often do feel great, but not always). I know that I
feel like crap when I'm not getting enough veggies, greens...and of course
WATER!

I guess the doctors would have thought about it if it could be that,
but have you considered you could have an unbalanced sodium/potassium
intake ? Of course, I guess many things could have caused this, but a
severe lack of potassium causes this kind of heart problem (or so I
read).
Lack of potassium aften goes along with a lack of magnesium.
First symptoms a low muscle energy, paralysis, nausea.
Potassium is excreted from cells during catabolism of proteins, or
when you are dehydrated, or when your body is using glycogen as fuel.

Anyway, glad to hear that you are feeling better now.

I will surely take your advice about water and coffee :-)

Thanks Huey,
I don't doubt that my potassium/sodium and magnesium levels were depleted.
Especially since I was so dehydrated, coupled with the fact that I was
eating and drinking poorly - lack of greens and veggies and the like. You
know after I was hydrated with the IV(if I recall correctly they gave me
about 3 bags throughout the day), the next morning I weighed 5lbs heavier!
To me that's a good indication of just how dehydrated I was. I didn't
urinate a whole lot of it out either (I mean after the IV) which tells me
that my body was needing to retain and utilize the fluid.
Well you know what they say...my body, my science experiment...and I think I
failed!

At any rate, you came through it okay and haven't had a repeat of the
situation. Please get your doctor to give you more information and answer
all of your questions. After all, if they don't give you a clear answer, how
can you not be expected to wonder if this might happen again?

Wishing you all the best after a scary episode....

Wow, I'm glad you're okay.

Years ago, my gynecologist said that if I found a calcium supplement that also
had magnesium in it, I'd sleep better. That's proven to be true, and there are
*lots* of calcium supplements with magnesium on the market. Since most women
need to take extra calcium anyway, it's an easy way to kill two birds with one
stone.

In the past (between LC times, at probabliy 240lb's or so) I had been tested
with a "Halter"(sp?) monitor, and they didn't find anything unusual. Also,
my "numbers" as checked recently were impeccable (cholesterol and so on).
I'm curious, what kind of additional tests can they do for circulation, etc?
I'm paranoid I have some clogged arteries or something, but seems like
hypochondria...

(btw, feel free to mail me at ) (remove the
carbs)
