A woman at work today told me "I wanted you to know, you've inspired me". I
couldn't figure out what she was talking about. "I have?" was the best reply I
could come up with. I rarely do anything worthy of inspiring others. Perhaps
she too desired expired registration stickers on her car, a chipped pedicure, a
bank account that would be overdrawn if I didn't make a deposit by 4pm, and
dirty dishes in the sink? Then she told me that she was inspired by how great I
looked, and how much weight I had lost. She said she had started getting up
early 4X a week to walk with her husband in the morning, and was cutting back
on carbs, and that she had lost 15 pounds already! I was floored, I can't
believe I actually helped inspire somebody IRL like that. Now I CAN'T slip up,
somebody is watching! LOL! Funny thing is, I posted here a few months back
about the same woman. I knew she was unhappy with her weight, and wondered if I
should say something about her starchy high-carb lunch choices to her. The wise
asdlc consensus was to just keep doing my own thing, and she would approach me
if she wanted to. Well I'll be damned! LOL!

That's a great feeling, isn't it? My younger brother and his wife have
started a 'diet pact' after seeing the great success my wife and I have
with our pact (she lost 45 lbs and has kept it off for over a year and a
half now). Their goal is to join us on a hiking vacation in the Rockies
next year!
